Antiabortion activists are descending on Albuquerque, N.M., picketing not just clinics but the city's Holocaust Museum, and targeting local abortion providers as "killers." Despite the rhetoric, the protests are so far nonviolent. But if the past is...

The bomb squad better be on call for the duration...and maybe have each protester go through metal detectors before allowing them to protest anything...scary times are here again with these fanatics around.

We used to know a couple prolifers that were horrible parents...no parenting skills and no interest in raising their kids. Go figure!

I treated one of these once. He was just so longing to kill and abortionist. He was an obsessional man full of hatred for many reasons. For him, his antiabortion stance was an opportunity to allow his rage to erupt "legitimately".

Some very sound logical reasoning in that article, Carrie. And that makes it only more scary. As Alexandra points out, many are filled with hatred for a variety of reasons and are only looking for an outlet to vent this anger. The anti-abortionist groups described in the article feed this irrational, pent-up anger and hatred and give it direction and a hint of respectability and legitimacy. In addition to that there are fundamental Christian groups who keep feeding the feelings of being a victim and adding to the rage. Together they are the fuse and the powder keg for extremists waiting for a spark to set it off.

Some of them are such zealots. Here in Canada we have had two (that I am aware of) Doctors murdered by these zealots. I find it strange that they are against abortion but will go as far as murder???
Hoping that these picketers will keep cool heads.
Thank You Carrie.

I think Alexandra hit the truth perfectly---a lot of these people are truly mentally ill. We used to call them fanatics. Some of them join because they are just "joiners" who found a cause, or connected with some of the members and enjoy the camaraderie. Unfortunately, once involved, they buy into all the malarkey presented....and some do, indeed, turn to violence. Sick.
