t's time to raise the minimum wage. The majority of America's working families (80%) agree. Earlier this year, Sen. Tom Harkin (D-Iowa) and Rep. George Miller (D-Calif.) introduced a bill that would raise the minimum wage to $10.10 an hour.

This is sad! Here in Alberta, Canada they raised the minimum wage, saying that it could be a living wage Hah!
My friend just had some people move onto her street from Texas, and when they were talking he said he found everything to be way more expensive up here.
Thank You for the information Carrie.

Here in Santa Fe, the minimum wage is $10.29 an hour, ~ but that's still not enough high enough considering how expensive it is to live here.

In July CA's goes to $9.50 and $10.50 a year later. Governor of MN is pushing for $9.50 there. It is long overdue

Noted. Thanks, Carrie. This article states that it should be $10.55. But, I guess they'll settle for a bit less. But, they shouldn't. Other economists have looked at this over the decades, and consider anything under $15.00 to be too low, while some go as high as $20.00. $10.10 an hr. is still to low. In fact, everyone knows that you must "negotiate" by asking for much more in the first place....esp. with the GOP hate-machine at full throttle.

Spam has been flagged again everyone should do it!!
Minimum wage is low in restaurants too, but they make tips so they have to work those tables and customer's! Trays are heavy and being on their feet all day! This still isn't enough wage!
Sometimes it doesn't come out good. They have their hrs limited too and that doesn't help things! they qualify for aid too! The restaurant does too for limiting them! More double dipping the taxpayer!
Thank You Carrie

Anything I have read about the minimum wage, and those who complain about all the problems raising it might create, indicates that there are no problems: that it always helps the economy, does not cost jobs. but, the complainers are just always the same conservative types , who just want more for themselves, "And I want it now!" As Beruga said.

when American companies don't want to pay the minimum, they just go offshore and use slaves http://action.sumofus.org/a/haiti-hanes/?sub=taf
