Airline fees are an unstoppable menace, rising from $2.45 billion in 2008 to a mind-numbing $27 billion in add-ons around the world, according a new report from IdeaWorks Co. Where did they come from? How did they become utterly unavoidable?

It sounded like justification for the fees. I would rather go back to paying for good service instead of feeling like i am being taken advantage of.

Does "Derek" work for the airline industry? Sure seems that way. Maybe we should look closer at the initial price of the airline ticket: 50 to 60% are government taxes & fees which don't profit providing carrier in any manner. Everyone's hand is in our pockets.

Noted. Well, they're sure not using the extra fees to better compensate their employees. The CEO's just love putting it in their already-bulging pockets.

Noted. Yes we are being nickel and dimed, but it all adds up to Big Money for the airlines.
Thank You Carrie.

They have us over a barrel. They are the only "fast" way to get somewhere and like it or not, we have to pay for it. All this money goes into the pockets of the pigs that run the companies and not to the employees where it should go.
