Jews for Jesus is an evangelical Christian splinter group, a small but well-funded cabal of believers whose faith decrees that all Jews must be converted to Christianity and repatriated to Israel in order to hasten the Rapture and the Second Coming...

Noted. Dubya's in hot water now. Oh, things have become so clear! The invasions of Iraq & Afghanistan were intended to bring about the Apocalypse. I'm sure we'll be seeing more articles connecting all these dots soon....he and his warmongering bunch of neo-cons. Rumsfeld initiated the engraving of bible versus on bullets used by our soldiers in those wars....remember THAT? Just wondering if it's too late to bring them up on war crimes. Time for some real justice.

Actually, it may not be too late to bring impeachment proceedings against Bubba and Cheney, as I understand it. but do not hold your breath. Ditto for war crimes, I sadly expect.
Can you imagine the backlash that either would create, fueled by the same type (even same people) of folks who brought us the Clinton impeachment proceedings; Newt would have a ball with it!
I did not read the whole article, because Bush simply sickens me, but anyone who wants to pay $1000,000 to hear "wisdom" from him is an absolute fool.
Then, again, fools are the folks who supported him, all along, absolutely!
So, I gather from Lois's comment that there is some mention of war in Iraq, at least, having biblical links: I have stated here, several times, that former French President Sarkozy (sp?) was told bt Bush that we had to go to war in Iraq because of the presence of Gog and Magog, the Devil's henchmen were afoot there.
Talk about delusional; talk about stupid!!A
And, these people think that fundamentalist, extremist Muslims are dangerous!?

Anyone up for forming a "splinter group" with the avowed intention of converting the Bushwas (and cohorts) to HUMANITY - With the intention of hastening planetary sanity??
Since it doesn't seem that they will be prosecuted for war crimes, which would, indeed give SOME hope for the coming of sanity - -

Bush must be really hard up for cash, or perhaps it's just the usual Republican greed where the rich never can have enough of it. But this will just slip away too, just like the invitations to the Jews for Jesus to the White house (for tea?) in 2004 were ignored. For one reason or another only the GOP wants to impeach a(ny) Democratic president, but the Democrats seem to have had enough after Nixon.

Maddow - “Why on earth would he be doing this?” she asked. “Who told them this was a good idea? And shouldn’t maybe one of the other former presidents give him a call and help him out of this one?” I have never liked Bush, and he certainly is not worth $100,000!!!
Thanks Carrie.

Note to self: Better proof reading. Mabus = Mr. Bush in ancient Greek. The first to fall.

I wonder what George W Bush a man who has never read a book wrote a book and spends time painting portraits of himself in the shower are especially disturbing. So him hanging around to a group who want to convert Jews to Christianity by claiming that “Believing in Jesus, is the most Jewish thing you can do.” is just one of those things he would do. He never really showed much of a tactful approach to other countries so sensitivities towards Jewish leaders is just something he wouldn't consider as face it after eight years of his Presidency and the two wars he started showed in harsh perspective he was a total tit of a man and how the man could of become the most powerful person on this planet shows that someone was taking the piss out of he American people big time. Still, with the lunacy of the Tea Party showing they indeed suck balls - Koch Brother's balls to be precise it the sort of behavior that Shrub would do: stupid and crass is the new smart these days in the Right wing.

I loved this paragraph from the article:

"Bush will address the group’s annual fundraising gala on Thursday of this week, although the group has now scrubbed all mention of that fact from its promotional materials. Attendees are paying up to $100,000 a plate to receive the former president’s wisdom, funds that the group will use to forward its aim of hastening the apocalypse."

$100,000 a plate to receive the former president's wisdom??? There's an old expression: "A fool and his money are soon parted." This is a particularly good example! They'd better hope the food is worth it!

Louise:Your rambling was just a more than bit off topic. The last third of your ranting had nothing to do with Bush's poor choice in who he was going to address.
