The Silicon Valley Secessionist Clarifies His Batshit Insane Plan

Balaji Srinivasan, Stanford lecturer and newest addition to the Andreessen Horowitz venture capital all-star team, does not want to live near you. He believes he and his Silicon Valley vanguard deserve their own place--literally, a separate society.

Several people have told me that the feel the United States is becoming increasingly Balkanized, as people with different agendas - not all of them bats**t - seek to yank this country in different directions. There are quite a few secessionist movements afoot, not all of them tongue-in-cheek. We are supposed to be a melting pot, but not only won's some lumps go away, new ones are developing. And between sequestration, shut-down, NSA eavesdropping, income inequality, and a whole busload of other grumbles, anti-government sentiment is quite high, if not at an all-time high. Left and right are sick and tired of the Powers That Be - Wall Street, Congress, or both.

Actually I quite agree with Balaji Srinivasan, there should be a special zone where he can exit to, and where of course we mere mortals can't get into.I think a privately run institute for the criminally insane would do the trick perfectly. There is only one rule Mr. Srinivasan needs to abide by: he is never ever allowed to return to our gloomy society. I think this solution would make both sides very happy, don't you agree?

With that kind of money maybe they can build their own space ship.

Is there any way we can help him leave sooner rather than later?

Please pick the floating island, and as the water rises who knows where he will end up. Or as Kit says maybe they can build their own spaceship and move onto Mars, apparently their is no way to come back.
Thanks Carrie.

I'm still looking for that mountaintop to escape the insanity, preferably one that isn't going to be blown up by Big Oil & Gas...
Agree with Lona, though can't currently give her another green star, very deserved.

At least this guy wants a "special place" for his personal idiosyncrasies, and isn't trying to incorporate them into Federal and State law so that everyone would have to conform to him. This is more generous than most Libertarian fruitcakes. Let's all contribute a quarter and build him a private asylum. With no doors. Just build it around him.

What a kook, maybe they should just build this "Free Innovation Zone" in the parking lot of Google, it's probably big enough, we could call it Googlestan.

I wonder how many of them vote and engage in the political process. They certainly lack social and emotional intelligence. I believe they are so smart they are stupid. Maybe they hear the teabagger dialect and are scared brainless and want out of the non-scientific world the Party of Red wants to create. The Pentagon/NASA should hire them to create Republitopia in outer space and give them a one way trip based on their innovations created in Regan's newly created parking lot at Google: Googlestan. Sooner not later, please. Rick Perry might give them part of his fiefdom in Texas - yeah!!!!!

Do they realize that most of their tech stuff like 99.9% is made in China?

What a good idea, don't they call a feeling of being separate, a psychosis of paranoia. Well there are institutions called lunatic asylums for such folk.
