There's already chatter on both sides of the aisle that the topic of guns and school safety in New Mexico, an issue that might have been otherwise ignored, could be a hot issue at the Roundhouse.

It is a questionable situation for schools if young children have to go through metal detectors, and adds to the fear of going to school. What is this world coming to........Although something has to be done!!!
Thank you for sharing Carrie

Thank you for the news! I fully support the idea of metal detectors, and strengthened gun control laws. Our children should not be afraid to go to school, and as parents and grandparents, we must fight for the lives of our children.

In this case, maybe it was aliens?

If nothing changed after Sandy Hook, I'm not hopeful anything will change now. Not until those who are so intent on their Second Amendment get some of this gun misery hitting closer to home....

If some of these senator's or representative's kids were involved or a victim of these school shootings, (Heaven forbid), there would be such a rush to get some laws passed, it would make your head spin!!! When some of their family is in trouble, they will act fast.

They are not very helpful when it comes to other people's kids! They don't care until it hots home with them and then it is "Everybody has to have a thorough background check when they want to buy a gun NOW!"
Just wait and see.

I am sure Vivian is right, and Arielle, I can not send you another star so soon.
I know that the industry supported NRA, and the people who want to be able to own, and carry guns, can come up with all sorts of rationalizations for changing nothing about gun control, but I think it is a form of cultural insanity.

Noted. Thanks, Carrie. Just tragic that our young people have to worry about so much more than the education they should be getting. I'm for all sorts of gun restrictions: better background checks, longer waiting periods, for Congress to reinstate the Assault Weapons Ban, and to eliminate those multiple clips, among other things....

The God of Guns

Hail to the God of Guns...
Assault weapons are its priests and nuns
Sacrifice is what the Gun God needs
He needs to see how humanity bleeds.
Worship the NRA if you please,
Raise your weapons and fall on your knees
The soul of a nation must we seize
Raise your Gun and fall on your knees
It is the God of Guns whom we must please...
Fire your weapons and fall on your knees
Violence is the nationís seed
Watch our children die and Bleed.
This is the Gun Godís call we heed
We are baptized in the Gun God's need
Sacrifice our children and let them bleed.
To the Gun God's thirst, the Gun God's Greed!
