In the wake of recent cuts to SNAP -- or food stamps -- the Associated Press reported Sunday that working-age people have now passed children and the elderly as the majority of recipients for households relying on food stamps.

It just keeps getting worse doesn't it? I wonder (sarcastically) what they should stop investing trillions in so they can fund more important and domestic matters such as the economy, job-creation and food stamps.

Horrific situation. Ther will always be some that will abuse a system. But a few bad apples does make the whole badket bad. There will soon be no middle class, if something if not done sooner than later. The economy is not doing well, and job creation is flawed, as businesses (smaller ones), can't affor to hire. And people who cannot eat properly will have a hard time going out job hunting, and they have no money for bus passes, or gas, how are they to get to job interviews. In all of this I worry about the children that always suffer the most. Thanks Carrie.

Noted. Thanks, Carrie. Yes, food stamps were already reduced in November, while congress continued to massively fund the Pentagon war machine with our tax dollars.....as well as give our wealthiest corporations subsides and tax breaks. Disgusting! And, the FL legislator who wanted to drug test food stamp recipients, has now stepped down, months after being busted for cocaine. It is well past time for the tide to turn in favor of the 99%.

I believe the House passed the Farm Bill today with cuts to SNAP. I assume it has to go to the Senate so maybe there is still hope for no cuts. I suggested in my comments to my congressional leaders today that they take money from military appropriations, or cut agricultural subsidies to the big agricultural conglomerates, or cut money from the dirty fossil fuel welfare appropriations. I'm sure they won't listen, but it made me feel better anyway. Asses all.

All we can do is hope - I signed another petition somewhere today.
