I have known "intellectually challenged" people who did good work in their jobs. Sure, they were not jobs where one needed a lot of brain power - but these people were no slouches.

I do not like Peter Schiffès comments at all. If he feels this way that would mean Canada is a socialist country-NOT. Not only that he doesnèt even know the p;roper way to address Intellectually challenged peope correctly. Thinking that anybody should work for $2.00 per hour in this day and age makes him retarded!!!

“You’re worth what you’re worth.” So how come this piece of GOP (yes, I mean that as an insult) earns millions. His is financial commentator and CEO, but obviously hasn't any connection with the real world, never even been on the street longer than to cross over to his limousine.
I've worked with intellectually challenged people and, unless they were in a vegetative state, they were more aware of what world we live in than this investment broker. Yes, you'd actually need to be intellectually challenged to accept to work for $2.

Noted. Well, if he thinks someone should only make $2 an hr. who is "challenged," I believe this piece of horse turd would be overpaid at $1 an hr. This excuse-for-a-human-being deserves nightmares of fire everywhere, and should wake up sweating.....or, maybe not wake up at all---the world would definitely be a better place. How does he ever think that a comment like that is something that people will smile and slap him on the back for?! Cruel, delusional sociopath.

Unfortunately, this idiot is only saying what every other entitled CEO thinks. I remember working for a go-go rising real estate company, where all the work was being done by the "peons," and four partners made over $300 millions because they were the ones who "had" the ideas. Yeah, right. It's one of the reasons I try to encourage everyone possible to work for yourself. If you're going to starve anyway, might as well have a hope of something later.

Where did we find this yo-yo? It is, with pride I say, he isn't worth even the $2.00 he mentions. He is going to get an outrageous bonus on every review and if he leaves, he will be paid beyond belief and then some. As far as I see it, if we pay what the worker is worth, he would get 2 cents and a plastic button (not a leather one).

Whatever happened to "equal pay for equal work?" Intellectually challenged people work side by side with "normal" workers almost everywhere (except at Schiff's place) and do the job just as well, if not better. If Schiff's theory is correct, then all fast food workers, for example, should be cut back to $2 per hour regardless of IQ. Down in Albuquerque, NM, there is a Down's Syndrome kid who ows and runs his own restaurant, successfully. Schiff needs to take his Econ 101 over again, because Supply and Demand doesn't apply here.
