Sure hope that Big Tobacco does not get involved!
Thanks Carrie for sharing.

Maybe just another way to suck the money out of people wallets?

it is a vicious circle.. getting people to quit only to allow marijuana to be legalised.. this is just another back door that is opening

It's no secret. The major tobacco companies have been examining the marijuana question since the 1970s. I was marginally involved in the study.

So what's the problem? If the stuff is now legal, who should be selling it? I am not a fan of Mary Jane myself but that's irrelevant. What does it matter that the product is offered by a tobacco company and sold at your local grocery store? It's a legitimate business opportunity.

It was inevitable from the beginning that SOME big business would take over marijuana distribution. At least big tobacco has experience in this sector. They will be able to guarantee quality standards and stabilize the price (too high, but stable). I would much rather see them run the show than, say, Bank of America or Comcast.

Big Pharma and Big Tobacco...duke it out...or join forces? Scary thought that. As Barry says, it's inevitable that Big Tobacco wants in on pot, eventually to take it over? Think that Big Tobacco would be the lesser of two evils here. Big Phama would control it like they do drugs, keeping control of what's produced, thus putting pot back on the underground circuit. Either way the people lose, again.
