If the chia seed powder had salmonella, this means it came into contact with some sort of animal product. Sometimes salmonella can even survive in manure. The only way to prevent this is to stop factory farming.

I use Chia Seeds evertday without problems but, it is disturbing to hear about problems with Chia/Flax Poders.
