and they're gonna have to. iran is the only one that can help. emir Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi's isis now has former saddam hussien soldiers swelling their ranks. the emir now is more powerful and influential than al-Zawahri, he has absorbed the nusra front in it entirety. sunni's and fighters from all over the world are joining his campaign and his quest for a sunni caliphate.
only iran and it's revolutionary guard can help.
this is what maliki gets for excluding sunni's.

The invasion of ISIS in Iraq has only made the sectarian war that has been fought between Sunnis and Shiites for a very long time visible. In the past decades the region has been armed to the teeth by just about every country dealing in weapons you can think of. Throw in some interference from Western countries which have no idea what they are meddling with, some dictatorships ended while others continue, some figureheads backed by either Western or Arabic countries making a further mess of it and the fuse finally has reached the powder keg.

The US needs to keep its nose out of this mess, even though it created the opening for ISIS to come in. Let Maliki deal with this however he wants to. It's a problem in the Middle East and the Middle Eastern countries need to get their acts together, push aside differences and deal.

Very difficult call here. Trouble is, the public does not know enough about the situation. Maybe the government don't either.
Despite the fact that there seems to be little difference between Shiites and Sunnis to us, there are big differences as seen by them. There are so many more Sunnis than Shiites and that is most likely due to their being much more fond of converting others by mass murder and genocide.
Because of that, I would be on the side of the Shiites.
