Sadly noted. Thanks, Carrie. Caught this item on World News a short time escalation after another, without an end in sight. All those lives snuffed out. Heartbreaking!

Noted Thanks Carrie Well we see for sure now who is the more humane. Hamas only took a prisoner and they very well could have killed him but chose to spare him. Truly shows the shark and the rabbit.

I suspect Hamas will use him as a bargaining tool ~ which seems only fair considering what has happened in Gaza.

B Lewenza: I think Carrie has the correct reason for his not being killed. Hamas could care less who they kill-they have been allowing the people of Gaza to die nearly every day.

Hamas ONLY took a prisoner....and you know nothing from there or what shape he/she's in. Yes, of course this soldier will be held hostage.
But, Carrie, why would Hamas need to bargain at all??? Bite off more than they could chew?
Now, about that ceasefire...........

Israel has denied that a soldier was taken by Hamas.

The government denies, but the military won't confirm or deny ~ like the military can't find one of their own.

Snide. If Hamas would agree to a ceasefire perhaps they could look for him?? If, of course, the sock puppet man with a phony ID wasn't lying.........

"Israel announced Sunday it would open a field hospital at the Erez Crossing to treat injured Palestinians. On Saturday, the defense forces delivered truckloads of medical supplies to Gaza.
"Meanwhile, at Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon, soldiers have been coming in with serious wounds from shrapnel and gunshots. The hospital treats soldiers and civilians, as well as injured Palestinians, although none were there Sunday.
The hospital is frequently hit by rocket attacks from Gaza. It has emergency procedures in place, including moving its neo-natal ward into a reinforced rocket shelter."

Oh, those mean Israelis. And they exchange hundreds of prisoners (including bombers and assassins) for one person.
