Daryl--You're not by chance a member of the Westboro Baptist Church. You know, the ones who hate everyone and everything and don't care who they hurt just get their vicious message on the 10:00 o'clock news. At least the KKK are bright enough to wear hoods so we can't tell who they are.

Thank you for reporting this dark side of Hamas too, Carrie. It is war and these people might have been informers might have endangered the lives of others and might even be responsible for the death of others (i.e. Hamas leaders and their families), but publicly executing people after a summary trial, if that, just because someone pointed the finger at them, is a reprehensible way of controlling people. With these wartime executions Hamas has shown they are far from ready to be part of a democratic Unified Palestinian government.

Lona, the problem I see is that Israel is not acting any better. The targeting of women and children in their homes and in UN 'safe shelter', destroying the homes of those 'accused' of killing the three Israeli teens; ~ all actions just as arbitrary and undemocratic as Hamas executing Palestinians accused of collaborating with Israel. Israel doesn't seem to be ready for democracy either.

Agreed, Carrie, but be assured that by criticizing Hamas I'm not defending the actions of Israel. By the same token, I've never defended Hamas when I criticize the policies of the Israeli government. For me the problem is that both are wrong with the Palestinian people caught in the middle and suffering greatly because of it.

I do agree Lona, ~ there is plenty of blame to go around. Unfortunately, it is the innocent who suffer because of the decisions supposedly being made for them. I'm still shocked that Hamas has signed an agreement supporting Palestine joining the ICC, but Israel opposes the ICC involvement in Gaza. Very interesting turn of events there, wouldn't you agree.

Daryl--Of course I have a sense of humor. Funny you could recognize one. Oh, by the way, if an exorcist shows up at your door, for your own sake, let him in. As for Carrie not posting, you'll have to take that up with her, but a call for censorship is not a challenge; it's a violation of the First Amendment.

PS: Who the heck is this Jess you keep mentioning? Another one of your personalities?

"The victims, their heads covered and hands tied, were shot dead by masked gunmen dressed in black in front of a crowd of worshippers outside a mosque after prayers, witnesses and al-Majd, a pro-Hamas website, said.
The Gaza security official said the first 11 men had been sentenced by Gaza courts, The Associated Press reported."

This is the part I most vehemently disagree with. If you are performing honorable, justified actions, you do so without wearing a mask. Hiding behind a mask makes you look weak and outside the bounds of civilized behavior. If you are so proud of your cause, if it is so worthy than be unafraid to show your face to the world as you support it lawfully. Only cowards hide their faces when carrying out the honorable instructions of their government. Outlaws wear masks. Like the cowards in ISIL, like all terrorists. If you are not such, then take your sanctioned actions in the light of day and bare your face proudly as a member of your society. If you are unwilling to do so, you are just another criminal afraid of the justice that will find you if you dare show the world your face. This is not the way a government carries out executions. This is how terrorists murder innocents. It always has been so and it still is.

Leaders lie, (ordinary) people die. This is what war is. Anyone, anytime, ever, who gets it into his or her head that one side is any better than another, is morally equivalent to the Ku Klux Klan. That certainly does not describe Carrie, It shouldn't describe anyone on Care2, but unfortunately there are those who fit.

Daryl--I searched Carrie's news and still couldn't find a story posted by anybody named Jess. In fact, it's not possible to post a story in anyone else's news.

As for the exorcist thing, GOOD ON YOU! There's hope for you yet. Keep 'em coming.

Hamas has signed a pledge to back any Palestinian bid to join the international criminal court, a move which could expose both the Islamist group and Israel to war crimes investigations.

As a head of state, HOW would you act if your country is infiltrated by spies, traitors and agents of an enemy state who is fighting endless war against your country, killing thousands of thousands, destabilizing the land ?

Would you put the faith of your country and it's inhabitants first as the higher good ?

To this questions, I would like to add an other question - what if the Hamas was made in Israel ?

Hamas is a Creation of Mossad ?

Carrie B (306)

Parsifal I have to agree with those who think Israel created Hamas. Palestinians needed protection from Israel and Hamas was there for them when the rest of the world turned its back

In any war traitors are executed, but this way it will cost Hamas a lot of support that they desperately need.
Thanks for posting Carrie.
