Earlier this week, the Roman newspaper Il Tempo published a disturbing report that Francis is "in the crosshairs" of ISIS for "bearing false witness" against Islam.

Noted. Thanks, Carrie. I have a very strong feeling that the Pope doesn't fear ISIS. That said, I do hope he doesn't ignore his security team since he is a target for many crazy people.

I always worry about anyone who acts Christlike. After all, they went after and got the original, why wouldn't they go after the copies,, and the better the copy the more a target. (Not that it has anything to do necessarily with being a Christian. I also worry about the Dalai Lama.)

Who "they" might be depends on circumstances. ISIS is a believable candidate, but certainly not the only one. And another "they" might be only too happy to eliminate a perceived threat and have it chalked up to ISIS. Yeah, I hope he watches his back. We need him.

I have been worried about Pope Francis from the very beginning Joanne. He is much too good to go unnoticed by the hate mongers.

Thank you Carrie very interesting. I don't think at the moment that ISIS should be underestimated at where they can reach.

Sure hope it's the best of the best security around--sometimes i'm shocked he hasn't fallen victim to these savages before. Thx Carrie

Noted. Thanks, Carrie. Hope his security is A-1! He's an easy target, out in the open and amidst the crowds.

ISIS, leave the Pope alone! He's actually a decent guy! I hope that there isn't any security lapses around the Pope. I'm not a Catholic, but I like how he's sticking up for the little guy.

ISIS, ISIL, whatever... is bearing false witness against the world. They show their own stupidity and ignorance representing Islam by murdering innocent people. They demonstrate everything that is wrong in their portrait of religion: fear, hate, lack of diversity, death, dictatorship, murder, destruction, lack of compassion for humanity, war, etc. Who, of their own free will would choose this portrait of religion? People who choose this path love death, murder and war - not peace unless it is on their terms. Sick pups.
