Very interesting in a "watching a bad wreck on the highway" sort of way. Thanks for sharing, Carrie.

"Patriarchy is Godís umbrella of protection."

NO, patriarchy is Man's way of maintaining control over women and children. And in all truth, everyone else. The Bible was written by MEN to consolidate power in their hands and to persuade all others that our creator would only speak to us through them. That we were not worthy - as if any loving parent would treat Her children, any of them, so badly. Not only do MEN get to tell everyone else what to do, they get us to pay them for the privilege. Religion is the greatest evil ever perpetrated again humanity, by MEN. It is long past time, we put those old boys out to pasture and listened within, which is the only place we can connect with our creator. And there, no one will ever hear ANY of the pure bullsquat perpetrated in the Old and much of the New testaments. This lot is no different than ISIL or Al Qaeda or any of the MALE led religions that exist only to perpetrate an enormous fraud on the people of the world. God is good, Men are not. And have proven that truth every day since we came down out of the trees.

Wow, great article Carrie ~ so happy to see this woman getting control over her own life. It really is all about power and control.

I was able to get as far as the "How do I know that Satan isn't using you to deceive me," comment and the "These people are just plain crazy!" comment refused to stay at bay in my own mind.
"Batshit crazy," is what it is.
Gene is so right about the patriarchy of organized religion! What a scam.
Humans have been parasites on humanity, first as a priestly class, then as a political class and then as a banking class.
I've used the Power and Control Wheel myself, over the years, in my work with clients, as a therapist.

Noted. Thanks, Carrie. I'd heard that there was an opposition to the Quiverfull group, but didn't know how it occurred or how large it was getting. Really glad to learn of the backlash, but knew it was bound to happen. I really feel badly for the kids. Gene's comment was excellent!

That family with all the kids should be called 'The Rabbits.'
A bouquet of dried thistles to the patriarchy of religion.

Good she finally saw the light at the end of the tunnel of "love". More like a train coming at her.

Just like the radical Muslims radical Christians distort the Bible and use their "religion" to oppress others. They take individual statements out of context and use them as "proof" of the validity of their actions. It is shameful no matter what "authority" one uses.
