Moore advised judges to disregard the federal court ruling, writing, âEURoeI am dismayed by those judges in our state who have stated they will recognize and unilaterally enforce a federal court decision which does not bind them.

Since when is a Chief Justice above the law and can he knowingly legislate against SCOTUS?

Isn't this the same religiously-fueled BIGOT who demanded the right to post commandments of his religion in publicly-funded buildings?

Yet another snarky, sanctimonious butthole....who is NOT above the law and should never have become a judge.

It's too late! Against Moore's orders the marriages have started! For once I am proud of Alabama and at least some Alabamians. Maybe when these people see that gay marriage doesn't cause fire and brimstone down on the state, and that nothing much really changes, some of them will change their minds.

Supreme Court has ruled so That the marriages must be carried out. 44 districts are refusing to abide by this.
{ Out of 66-or so districts}'

Noted. Thanks, Carrie. Looks like we'll be hearing more on this very soon.....something about a constitutional crisis. SCOTUS is suppose to be making a decision on this issue soon, but I don't remember the exact date. Meanwhile, I hope the marriages are taking place without any trouble.

This Greedy Old Pharisee Judge Roy Bean . . . er Moore needs to retire! If not voluntarily, then he should be removed from the bench.

Is that a gavel in his hand or is he just pleased to be in for bigot of the week? Isn't it just quaint that in a state where it is illegal to sell sex toys that there is a massive dildo as Chief Justice? Still, given that they made bestiality a misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in jail just last year is progressive and Incestuous marriages are legal there too - so men/women can marry their sister/brother but not another man/woman and why is this not a surprise to many of the people elsewhere. Maybe he just doesn't know that gay marriages are just fabulous and the food is god too, though it can be a bit of a bugger to get a cake.

Their minds are caught in a time when bigotry and hatred rules. There are far too many people of this mindset.

"[Moore] is noted for his refusal, in 2003, in his first term as Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court, to remove a monument of the Ten Commandments he commissioned in 2001 from the Alabama Judicial Building despite orders to do so from a federal judge. On November 13, 2003, the Alabama Court of the Judiciary unanimously removed Moore from his post as Chief Justice.

On November 6, 2012, Moore won election back to the office of Alabama Chief Justice."

Little Roy is a deluded prophet of nothingness. His god must have informed him directly by rock tablets to spew his hatred to the world along with other related lies. I guess you could say he is a reflection of the "Bozos of the Ballot Box"who voted for him. They should clone the beast and send one to Kansas so they can compete with each other for the National Champion of Bigots award.

"...deluded prophet of nothingness.!" I love it!!
Dumb shit!
Can he be prosecuted for judicial misconduct, or some such?

That man is the same one who ignored court orders regarding promulgating religion. I thought they had fired him, they should have, and they should now impeach him for this. Instructing state courts to disobey federal law is malfeasance of office at the very least. He is no manner qualified for the office he holds, he cannot be objective and unbiased in his rulings as he has proven in his past work and private life. Terrible excuse for a man, let alone an officer of the court.

All this grandstanding is political hooey. I cannot stand this southern state b.s. (and I live in a southern state). They pretend to be "religious," but they are only ridiculous. And frankly, if it weren't for the tax benefits, there wouldn't be so many churches down here. It's a scam. And businesses are all linked up into it, too. I wish someone would do a study on the "honest" churches down here versus the "business hook up and republican epicenters" that are fake churches, making massive illegal coin from there tax status. It's truly the way to disband the Royalists of the South.
