On Wednesday night, after a threat was sent to this embassy and the police descended on the building, you came out in the middle of the night to watch over it, and you brought the world's eyes with you.

I do not support an alleged rapist attempting to avoid his accusers and trial. If he is innocent, why is he doing things this way?

IMO, Assange knows he will get no fair trial, either in or out of the US. From the top down, our "government" is rife with crooks and criminals who need the cover of darkness in which to work their evil. Manning and Assange turned bright lights on these cockroaches, and that will neither be forgiven nor forgotten.
IMO, their was no "rape"--a couple of sexual encounters may have been set up, but no rape.
But, as I say, this is just my opinion.
Thanks Nancy.

(Still trying to Note). Yes, from all the info, it's quite clear the Swedish "rape" charges are bogus. Assange offered to answer questions from the Swedish gov't on many occasions. These charges weren't filed until he left Sweden. In the UK, he again offered his testimony--but the Swedes would neither appear in person or by Skype. Apparently, there's a financial connection between the Swedish minister and a big conservative US donor...so I read today. These charges are also not crimes either in the US or UK.
Assange is a publisher and a hero. The NYTimes and other world publications aren't being charged, although they printed the info. I was glad to hear him defend Pussy Riot and Bradley Manning. Heroes all!

Correction: Apparently, the Swedes never formerly filed any charges against Assange...just wanted him for questioning, which he offered many time before leaving Sweden. Swedish Prime Minister Carl Bildt was on the Board of Directors for the RAND Corp.

The problem isn't with Assange publishing secret government documents. The problem is government secrecy.
