No body does it better - Jon is one of a kind.

And to add to the humor of this election cycle - Bill Maher is back.

I don't know whether the likes of Ann Coulter, John Stossel, Sarah Palin and all the Fox News employees who appeared in Jon Stewart's video are embarrassed by what they said --but I'm certainly embarrassed for them. Why are they offended by the fact that people who are poor have refrigerators, or coffee makers, or microwave ovens? Maybe they feel that way because they don't think the poor should have food, either! The video was funny and clever (Jon Stewart never disappoints), because it revealed the very ugly side of people who've never had to do without and who don't possess an iota of compassion --and they certainly deserve to be ridiculed for their insensitivity.

Every once in a while YT freezes so I couldn't watch but I am living "F the poor." Talk about slipping through the cracks. If voluntary euthanasia was legal I would be the first in line.

I think my definition of who is a "taker" and who is a "maker" is probably a little different than that of the Republican party.

Yes how dare the now one half of America, according to the newest statistics, who are at or below the poverty line have refrigerators. I suppose the rich will be along to collect those too in some more tightening on the citizens of this Country.

Will the Greedy be happy when we are cooking on open fires outside our homes and apartments and using coolers to keep the food in? Have they looked in many of those refrigerators to see that many people have few items stored in there to feed themselves or families. That cutting back on the Food Stamp program will make more near empty or empty refrigerators, I suppose then the "poor" will not need them. The Corporate Hogs can come collect them to melt down and get a few more dollars for themselvs.

You are correct Susanne, they should be ridiculed for their insensitivity, they should be shunned, they should be the ones to be looked down upon, not the poor of whom many are that way because of a system that is designed to create poor, and only reward some, and make handsomely rich beyond measure a few.

I just heard on my local news this morning, that the middle class has shrank again, and that this has been the worse decade for the poor and what is left of the middle class in this Countries entire history. How dare they get on the news and flap their jaws and compare people to racoons, loafers, bottom dwellers or any other negative term. So many are followers of Ayn Rand and similar type thinking, the Corporate mind, that is selfish to the core and is the push to all of our destruction.

Some of us may go faster than others by these Greed driven maniacs, but in the end they too will suffer, if not them their decendants. They are so shortsighted in the greedy blindness they can't even see it. Even Chief Seattle said the same thing in his speech back in 1854 when he said, "Your time of decay may be distant, but it will surely come, for even the White Man whose God walked and talked with him as friend to friend, cannot be exempt from the common destiny. We may be brothers after all. We will see." So this Corporate migration takes out all, is no matter what your race or heritage, all will be destroyed in time.

Unless.....and that is where each person needs to stand up and be counted and speak out, and do what is in their talents and power to prevent this.

I had placed a similar story on to this, 172 days ago, things are still not better since then, it is not a video, but I think it is still a read that people could take in.

Many didn't pay taxes because they had no income, or minimal income. What excuse do the wealthy have for not paying taxes or paying minimal taxes?

I agree with Gloria. Im VERY grateful for what i have and hate being sick and feeling I cant contribute to society anymore, but Im tired of having nothing but 2nd hand stuff. I dont ask for anything, just stop taking what I do have.

Thanks for the belly laugh! I needed that after another depressing day. :)

You cannot currently send a star to Susanne because you have done so within the last week. Dandelion too :)

One thing that enrages me about all the talking heads that John Stewart shows, is that they all are making very good money talking down to people who need help. If I weren't an atheist, I'd be hoping there were a special circle of Hell for all of them.
