President Obama: Stand Up to Shell ACTION

Will you call President Obama today to tell him not to grant Shell Oil its final permits to drill in America's Arctic Ocean? Now, more than ever, protecting our Arctic must be an American priority.

There has to be a 'catch' somewhere, for President Obama to have made this decision.

This issue is huge and needs to be addressed. Thanks Nancy. Its unfortunate there are just the two political parties to choose between in the upcoming election. Seems to me they are both putting the profits of the oil companies ahead of the wishes of a lot of people along with the welfare of the planet.

Noted, tweeted, and shared. Don't believe much will happen until the election is over. If Obama wins, he might stop Shell because he won't have to pay a political price. If he loses, we all know Romney will support Shell and probably give them subsidies to damage the environment.

I so love Alaska, spent 2 months there and would have liked to stay there permanently, however, I was not allowed to, immigration laws did not permit it.
It is one of the most beautiful places on earth, Shell, do not ruin it,
I was not able to take action and sign, because I am not a US citizen.

We need to start using our own oil so there are not so many people screaming that we are in other countries only for their oil!! Fix the problem instead of promoting it!

Indeed we do Carol but Shell Oil is a company I have personally been boycotting for years. Their enviromental record is very, very sad and in my mind this company should have been shut down years ago.

On the bright side they will have to deal with our regulations here in North America which are quite steep. I am very interested to see how they are going to cope when they have to follow actual rules and regulations. However we are very strict about making our companies obey our environmental laws here in Canada. Obama demonstrated during the Gulf oil spill that he says one thing and does another. He is incompetent and I would not trust him to be the one who makes Shell tow the line.
