Congressmen have the best health care in the world. They are only working 126 days next year for those exorbitant salaries and that excellent health care. If anyone wants to get up a petition to stop their health care and have them buy their own, I am all for it and I will proudly be the first to sign it. Can we start with the House of Representatives first?

This has been my argument all along, how can these people make decisions that affect the healthcare of us all and yet they have no skin in the game? No matter what they do their taxpayer paid for healthcare coverage is not affected. I'm not surprised, just frustrated. Signed.

Signed - Start at the top and remove your lifetime packages. What is good for the public, is good for you! You forget that you are our employees and we are the employers! The people should have the vote on your entitlements

What a bunch of hypocrites - just like everywhere (I regret to say!). Everywhere in the world if an MP or a Senator or Congressman or whoever gets ill they get the BEST of treatment.

If they are going to visit a hospital the management will bust a gut to make sure the best possible (frequently mendacious) impression is given. It is to my joy that at a hospital I used to work at, when the Casualty Dept was decorated with numerous potted plants(!) to impress a politician - one courageous doctor put them outside, saying airily that 'they needed some rain' and the Casualty Dept returned to normal. The rest of the hospital had money removed from budgets to pay for all this ludicrous folderol!

I wish I could sign to support you all!

BTW - do your polliticians have a care package like ours - they recieve pay for a YEAR after they have lost their seat - unbelievable! (I have just checked this and found "MPs who lose their seat or stand down at a general election are also entitled to a "resettlement allowance" worth between 50% and 100% of their annual salary. " item found on the BBC).

Signed in private email (I get all LeftAction emails), noted and shared on FB and in private email. I think they can start with their health care that WE pay for. Then, proceed to cut their salaries to 1 DOLLAR per year if they are Millionaires (95% of the senate are!) and the rest to 150,000.00 per year and then put them on the same level as we are in that they MUST retire at age 65 or 67 or term limits to that age whatever comes first...and if they wish to continue to work (which they would not have to unlike most seniors) they cannot draw a second salary but be paid only 1 dollar per year. AND put them on Social Security like the rest of us, no more salary-for-life that they get from their separate pension fund which is NOT SS. (Yes, they continue to get their FULL salary that they were getting while in office). See how fast they would fix all of it if this were the law. They could start by paying back into Social Security what they STOLE (right at 4 TRILLION) for all their pet projects...which they have already said they have no intention of ever paying back!!!!! That's FRAUD and on the level of EMBEZZLEMENT. They whine about 'entitlements'......yeah....let's start with theirs FIRST!!!!!

Now that the 113th Congress' new calendar shows they will be working less than half-time next year thanks to Eric Cantor's scheduling, there is no reason to pay them full- time salaries and benefits. Time to enforce their Right to Work for less.

What is good for the goose is good for the gander! Or as Romney would say, sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander!

With all your personal millions, you have enough to pay your own healthcare. There are many working poor who do not. Quit being hypocrites and renounce your solid gold health care.

Fantastic petition! I would take them more seriously if they cut off some of their benefits before ours. They are very hypocritical considering than more than 50% of them are rich.

Thanks, my friend. Let the Rs give up their health care. They don't want us to have health care, so why should they have what they want to deny us? They live off us, we don't live off them.
