It does make one wish that something significant could or would be done to the OIL and GAS companies to force them into being responsible companies. I don't hold by breath waiting for that.

Noted. I would like the money to go to the earth science and environmental scientists, paid and volunteer workers to have the supplies that they need to clean up the spills and messed that exon made around the world.

Good thought Jim! Where are the petitions -- to give the ad money to help the poor -- not the department of education -- the middle man?
Forget this petition -- because will some person please write another one.
The department of education has way more money than some person who had to donate their job to another person -- overseas -- so you wonder why people are not taking care of their children?
People can choose to homestead, live on boats, and they will need water distills, air purifiers, and water purifiers. Better to ask for these things in this petition.
Before I can give a child an education, I will need a water distill, and a clean water source. I will need clean air and air purifiers.
So, Exon needs to give money to the people and organizations who will clean up the water and the air.
WE ARE ON TRACK TO HAVE THIS SORT OF PETITION -- IT IS NOT ASKING WHAT I WOULD ASK FOR.

Excellent idea! I'm sure we could all come up with many worthy ways to spend the money Exxon owes. The amount they owe is disgusting. Meanwhile public schools suffer from inferior materials, low paid teachers, degraded buildings etc. If Exxon think teachers are so important (which of course they are) then they can put their money where their mouth is. Well technically it's not actually their money, it's public money, so they can pay their bloody taxes and THEN equal a donation to public schools science and community outreach programs!
