This is extremely annoying and happens with all commercials - the petition format is equally annoying. I try to ignore commercials and not write down the product name, time or even the where or when the origin of the commercial.

Noted - wish we could do that in the UK. Here's a thought - turn the TV off, go for a walk, read a book, listen to the radio, or check for interesting news via care2!

I don't own a television.

If someone brought one into my apartment, I'd exorcise the dang thing!

I'm a hypocrite....I go half a block down to McDonalds and watch the news on THEIR tv

We don't have that problem anymore, got rid of cable tv two years ago and have never been happier. Now we can watch whatever we want. The library has so many movies & shows to check out. Just wish we would have done this years ago....instead of giving $$$ to the cable companies!

Great! This is one of the reasons I've taken to recording the tv programmes I like, to watch later and fast forward through the irritating loud commercials. But shouldn't all tv channels have an automatic sound limiter, so as not to allow the adverts to suddenly deafen us?

Oh, for the B.B.C. they don't have any adds.

I knew they had passed this law and that it was to take effect in 2013, but it still seems to me as though the commercials are always louder than the show and I haven't seen any change. Are we seriously supposed to report every show? I have my doubts as to whether they really want to put a stop to it .

personally, I just hit the mute button on the remote on most commercials. I find most of them plain annoying.

I got rid of TV years ago. We now watch movies, and the news I get on the internet.

This is the same means of reporting that I sent out to my C2 friends via email a while ago. I'm glad to see that it's gotten posted here as well. It is an extremely annoying thing that has bothered me for years. I don't watch or listen to commercials either, Kit, I fast-forward through them (if I've recorded the show) or hit the mute when they come on. But I'm going to sacrifice for a while and report at least one commercial on every station that I watch so that the FCC can contact the appropriate "perp." A little sacrifice of time and attention, hopefully, will save us from years of annoyance in the future. Thanks, Nancy, for posting this and Dandelion for forwarding it.

Done! Noted and shared on Fb.
I loathe commercials. Anyone remember the big draw to cable/satellite TV when they first came on the scene in lkate 70's/early 80's? I do...... NO COMMERIALS!!!!!! Now, that's basically ALL there is on cable/satellite....with a little bit of what passes for a show in between them. Beyond annoying. Thinking real hard about just dumping all of it.....satellite......intenet.....and anything else I don;t really need at this point.

In case you missed it, theres a tab that says ACT NOW and it lets you send a letter to your congressmen to make websites stop tracking you when you shop online. Thats annoying as well, so please sign if you want it stopped as well!
