Several years ago, I decided to volunteer at a no kill shelter.

I have never recovered.

If a cat came in and acted agressively, even when first brought in, it was confined forever after to a cage hanging from the ceiling. I asked if we couldn't let them out for a while. I was told no. Once in a while they would let the cat out but not that day when a volunteer asked,

The rooms were wall to wall cats.......

I left the no kill shelter crying. I'd rather have my loved pet put to sleep than commited to that no kill shelter. There are fates worse than death.

I do realize that all no kill shelters are probably not alike.

But I'm still crying.
