On February 26th, Bono spoke at TED to show the progress in the fight against extreme poverty... and what we need to do next. Bono shares the new facts about fighting global poverty: "Forget the rock opera, forget the bombast, my usual tricks..."

I'm always a little suspicious of people like Angelina Joli and this guy. Bono in Latin means benefit and we know who benefits Bono, the UN shill. Of course the UN is a shill for the IMF/WCB who created poverty in all these nations thanks to the austerity economics of Milton Friedman. If you want to learn how this came about then read the book Globalization And The Rise of Poverty. Of course globalization died at the end of 2000 and morphed into its bastard son Corporatism. The Yale Report would have you believe that globalization reduced poverty when nothing could be further from the truth. The number of people living on $1.50 a day may have been reduced but the number of people living on $2.50 a day has increased. Of course the population levels may have decreased due to the austerity measures and working conditions created by globalism and amplified by the Five major Corporatist giants.
Wouldn't it be nice if all these rock stars and hedge fund managers and corporate do gooders who are merely balancing their evil deeds; actually donated 15% of their overall wealth to the poor? Qui bono Bono?
Sorry to burst your bubble Carol.

The key here is awareness. We need to get people talking and motivated. Great book Michael and I recommend it to all. So called 'disaster economics' is something else to be aware of. We also need to understand that governments do not run our countries, corporations do.
Thanks Nancy.

People are waking up and realizing the great danger people and our planet are in.

Often, even when shopping with my reusable bag, or perhaps at McDonald's where I go to watch the news, I make a comment about the danger our planet is in. People are interested and concerned. They just don't know what to do about it. So I tell them about Care2. Alone we can do almost nothing. Together we can save our planet for our children and our grand children. People write it down, Care2 Petitions. They tell me they're going to look it up on their computers.

People are waking up: young people, old people, the poor, the rich, the intelligent, the average.......
together we may yet save our planet.

Prdn, "video", not "article"--don't really know what to make of it, as I know nothing of Bono.
