"President Obama you put it on record before you were first elected to the presidency that you were against GMO/GE crops. You simply must stand up for your people now and veto the Monsanto HR933,Section 735. It is beyond wrong to let this pass - and will cripple the health, productivity and happiness of all of the people of the United States if you do not veto this bill. Please, President Obama - remember your promises to the people!!! "

The world would be lost without people like you Nancy. Words aren't adequate to express the gratitude I wish to express to you. I can only say thank you. I am so saddened by all that is happening in the world. Thank goodness for the opportunity to take action and create change. Without this opportunity, I would have to just go lay down on 270 at rush hour. Not really! Life is such a gift, and I am determined to make the most of it by trying to make a difference thanks to your efforts which afford me the opportunity to do just that. Thank you! (S, N, P, T)

Happily signed and shared. I'm not sure there is a corporation on earth with as soulless a position on what it does to make money. People before dollars, always. Monsanto has NO idea what it is doing nor the long term effects of its ridiculous and dangerous programs. The very idea that they can be contained safely is ludicrous, once in the ground they will spread, safe or not. It is letting the genie out of the bottle without know if it comes with a sword or a piece of fruit. Just throw caution to the wind and hope for the best does not seem a responsible corporate mission statement to me. Yet that is exactly what Monsanto is doing. Ick.

We regret to inform you, but today Congress succeeded in passing Section 735, aka the Monsanto Protection Act, in the Continuing Resolution spending bill. Once again, Monsanto and the biotech industry have used their lobbying power to undermine your basic rights.

We need you to call President Obama and tell him to veto HR 933 and the Monsanto Protection Act. Then contact Congress and tell them you are outraged. With the Senate passage of the Monsanto Protection Act, biotech lobbyists are one step closer to making sure that their new GMO crops can evade any serious scientific or regulatory review.

This dangerous provision, which we're calling the Monsanto Protection Act, strips judges of their constitutional mandate to protect consumer and farmer rights and the environment, while opening up the floodgates for the planting of new untested genetically engineered crops, endangering farmers, citizens and the environment.

We are asking that you take action here and then call President Obama and demand that he veto HR 933. Join us in putting a stop to the Monsanto Protection Act!

Theres a Monsanto Co. right here where I live now:

They will wreak havoc and ruinous damage to our soil, probably already have. Raised garden beds are best away from the poisonous ground below.

Noted, but unable to sign this petition - but I did sign on a different site.
Monsanto has to be brought down somehow! This is the problem of letting companies become monopolies! They have control over all that is in their interest, products, pricing, changing genetics of plants etc. They probably don't even pay any taxes!! There is freedom and democracy, but not one individual or corporation should be allowed to have all the control over others. Thanks Nancy.
