So hard to lose a pet, my heart goes out to Rosemary. Our little Schipperke, Katie, will be 17 yrs June 18th and sadly we realize her trip to join Spencer (passed Jan 18, 2010) over the bridge is not far off. :(

Sorry for your loss, Rosemary. I understand your pain. both our dogs died when I was very young. I won't be lighting a candle, though. I don't want our house to burn down again.

Lit candles for Plummie and Woofie.
It is so devastatingly hard to lose a treasured campanion--but, I'd rather give them a loving, nurturing home (and fall apart later, when they die)than pass them by (not that I could!), and deprive us both of love.
Thank you Nancy.

The vet refused to treat our very sick one year old kitty, Nonnie. I would have to take the news back to my room mate, Michelle. Nonnie would leave us before morning came. It had to do with a birth defect of her kidneys.

Nonnie suffered. She tried to walk but could not. She tried to drink water but could not. My kitty, Tracie, was very concerned. It was the middle of the night. Tracie sat on top of the cat tree and kept vigil with us. Together we gave to Nonnie the love and caring in our hearts. She would not die alone.

Michelle left the room for a while and I began to pray for Nonnie. I commended her to the Lords of Karma. I recited her gifts to us, her goodness, her beauty of soul. Michelle returned as I gave Nonnie the best of reference to the Lords of Karma and asked a better incarnation for her. We expressed our deep appreciation for the time Nonnie had been with us. Tracie, on the top of the cat tree prayed with us. I'm an animal
communicator and Michelle is very psychic. Together we prayed as Nonnie died in my arms.

I had thought it would be "awful" to touch a corpse but Nonnie was not a corpse. Her body was now
resting from the pain and Nonnie, I'm sure, was greeted with love on the other side.

ahhhhhhhhhhhh my dearest Buddy i had no idea until Sara W. told me in her message that you created a candle group for Plummie and me... i had no idea ! im so sorry if you sent me a message to let me know b/c i must have missed it. Just starting to see more clearly lately though the tears continue to come, and the heartache i feel needs more healing.
just to read all the many caring comments here makes me cry, with thankful tears ... i didn't realize so many friends here really do care. That's what i told Autumn when her beloved Cassie crossed the Rainbow Bridge, that she wasn't alone in her grieving... now i'm seeing that i too am not alone.
To each and every friend here who has expressed their sympathy and offered healing light and love i am especially and profoundly moved with deep appreciation.
I lit some candles there tonight and include Candy L.'s precious woofie, Autumn's beloved Cassie, and Carlene's Schipperke and Katie.
Light A Candle For Plummie

Please let me know if you have lost a beloved pet, especially recently so i can offer my condolences to you and light a candle too.

Plummie was just a little one when i found her in the park. I will always remember her running down the hill whenever she saw me coming, brushing up against my leg to say i'm happy to see you, and always gently accepting the food i gave her. Her sweetness touched my heart and brought such great comfort after our Kismet (aka Kizzy) passed just a couple of months before. On that cold winter afternoon when she was sick and let me know she wanted me to take her 'home' i was humbled ! Our short journey together was filled with love and Light every day. Her unconditional love, as with all animals, always 'whelmed' my spirit !
my heart broke the day the vet told me she had a collapsed lung and nothing could be done to heal or save her. i had no idea! i was completely devastated! When i held her in my arms for the last time, i thanked her for all that she shared with me, speaking softly as tears swept upon my lips i kissed her goodbye. . . . . . . .
