Cher has posted this in a group and it just struck me as completely relevant now. Joni Mitchell is amazing.

Still love her...and especially her "Just Like a Mama Lion." Expresses how I feel when observing injustices pretty spot-on.

Always my favorite female singer...I've carried the blue album around with me for all these years.

And you're right, it's still as relevant as the day it was released

Bees would not be in crisis if we had listened to Joni.

So true, found paradise and those who didn't appreciate it F'd it up...and we suffer for their lack of sight.

Thanks for bringing up this video that is still as relevant as it ever was, even more so.

Joan Baez and Joni were the two primary folk singers in my youth and I always loved Joni best, I have this album, on plastic I can no longer play - have to buy me a turntable again someday, have a lot of records I'd like to hear but not on YouTube.

About a month ago I watched a more than three hour special on what was my favorite group back then (the Beatles hit when I was 11 and lost me around 15 and I never liked the Rolling Stones, yeah, I know, heresy, nor Herman, had more eclectic tastes I guess, like Joni) the Eagles. I was amazed at the amount of footage they had from back in those days, stuff I'd never seen before. They all gravitated to this club in LA, Glen Frey from Michigan, Don Henley from Texas, and lived in a rooming house with Jackson Browne and others, Joni was a regular at that club, Glen Frey says he learned how to write songs because Jackson lived below him and EVERY morning he'd be down there on the piano piecing things together, it was a great show. They were all great artists eventually too, still relevant today, what they had to say was timeless. I know this is true because one of the traditions of our land has always been that whatever music your parents liked, you hated, but that wasn't so with the music of the 60's and forward, my sons loved the Eagles as much as I did, now, I didn't like all that they did by any means, but they loved what I loved, Joni amongst many. Music was so much a part of the 60's and 70's as I grew up, the voice of the common person really, not able to be purchased at any price by the have's. About all they couldn't buy. Thanks for the trip down memory lane, Nancy, and Cher. Think I'll go look around YouTube a while, or maybe go find a turntable. :^)

What a beautiful voice Joni had - and the lyrics are just as vital today as when she wrote them. Thanks for reminding us, Nancy!

...
Hey farmer farmer put away that D.D.T. now
Give me spots on my apples but leave me the birds and the bees please
Don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you've got till it's gone
They paved paradise and put up a parking lot ...
