As Asia waits for trial, over 1,800 attacks and 700 deaths have been caused by this law and the vigilante justice it inspires -- but without an international outcry, Islamic extremists will continue to intimidate the government into keeping it on the books

There used to be this Christian song....my goodness, it's been over 20 years but some might remember the song, "If you were on trial for being a Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict you?"

I'm afraid there would be enough evidence to convict me and I do not call myself a Christian, or Jew, or Wican or Buddhist or any sect.

Why do I say this. For one reason, don't think if you're not a Christian you're immune. If you don't believe and even call yourself an atheist the enemy would hang you for not believing.

This is a struggle, whatever we call ourselves we are at risk. And it won't do any good to say the simple sentence that most of us believe anyway to a certain extent...."There is only one God.....". They keep an eye on their converts.

The struggle is for our minds, for our freedom to think our own thoughts and come to our own conclusions.
There's a great book..."The Closing of the Muslim Mind" by Robert R. Reilly who is loaded with credentials,
It's filled with information on how the enemy chose irrationality not reason.

Would any of us, regardless of label or no label, would any of us want to be forced to believe AND LIVE according to the regulations of no thinking for yourself allowed. Me, I'd rather "swing",.

Killing people must because they are Christians is no different from killing people just because they are Jews - or Atheists - or Muslims - or whatever.

Noted and signed. No one should endure any kind of punishment, certainly not death, for their religious beliefs.

Too many people loosing their life over others ignorance and hatred just because someone believes in another way than they. I agree fully with what Freya said....it's simply wrong.

Pakistanís blasphemy law is so broad and vague that simply openly being a religion other than Islam is grounds for life imprisonment or death.
Noted and signed with thanks Nancy.

I have no love for the Christian religion but the fact that my imaginary friend hates your imaginary friend is not a hanging offense!

Unfortunately having a religion or NOT having a religion....being an atheist.....could either one result in death. It's not just that you have a religion or do NOT have a religion. It's refusing to enthrone THEIR god in YOUR life.

It's a matter of being free to think our own thoughts and to believe or NOT believe of our own choice. And don't think saying their forced statement of conversion will exonerate you. Those folks check up on you and keep tabs. Are you DOING what their religion requires. Or are you daring to think for yourself?

By the way many of them are well trained in the occult arts....telepathy is real and they can use it.

It's about time that Atheists and Christians and Whatevers realize, though it is a religious war (actually it's money) it is a battle against your right to think your own thoughts and govern your own mind that is endangered. We need to stand together and stop our petty religious fights and our smug idea that we're right and the other is either stupid or going to hell.

If another is not allowed to believe or not believe by their own choice, we are all in danger.

Me, I'd rather hang than give up my right to think my own thoughts, to believe what I want to believe and not believe what I don't want to believe.

The very smugness of atheists and the threat "You're going to hell." of Christians should be ceased by all intelligent, responsible people. To quarrel when we are all in danger is true stupidity.

PETITION TO PRIME MINISTER SHARIF: Pardon Asia Bibi and rescind the blasphemy law that puts Pakistanis to death for believing in a religion other than Islam. People should be free to practice any religion they choose without fear of reprisal and death. Done

Zee, what evidence is there that "many of them are well trained in the occult arts...telepathy is real and they can use it?"
I read the book Asia Bibi wrote, earlier this year, and recommended it to the "A Place for Bookworms" group, here.
She was "busted" for drinking from a "Muslim well!"

Alright, self control is more important than ego dominating. Sounds like an argument coming on, I no longer make any effort to prove me right and "you" wrong. You are ALSO right.

Pat yourself on the back and gloat a little.

I'm outta here.
