It won't work. The only thing Greg Abbott and his allies have proved with these desperate attacks is that they don't understand what it means to live a life like mine - a life like that of so many people all across our state.

N/S the Abbott campaign can count on a major Texas newspaper to do their dirty work for them, as the columnist above just did. Anyway, given the Texas Republicans' determined war on women, I doubt that they're going to abandon this line of personal attacks anytime soon against Wendy Davis. I sure hope she wins!!
Thank You Nancy

Those of us, who are very active in the Texas Democratic Party, are mystified by these constant attacks on women in general and Wendy in particular. The republican party seems to be shy about talking about the issues. AND in its defense it has a lot to be shy about. Since the GOP has taken over the state we rank at or near the bottom on air quality and education Texas also has more people working for minimum wage and those without health insurance. We are still tops in tax breaks for the rich & executions.

The war against women whether in Texas or any state is simple, there are more women than men. More women rearing children alone, more women of color, more women fighting for a place in the scant job market. The attacks against women, their own bodies, their need for health care, and sometimes the very real need for some help from the government in providing for their children; makes them an easy mark. Too many women are conditioned to apologize for their situation rather than fight back. That, I'm happy to say is changing, maybe not fast enough, but it is beginning to change.

Bob (Robert T) is fighting from Houston and I from the DFW area. Through the democratic party and Battle Ground Texas we are finding an amazing number of women that are eager to come on board and show their support for cleaning up Texas foul and corrupt government. We also have a large contingent of women that are calling themselves Republican Women for Wendy Davis.

To stop the War on Women we all have to be ready to stand up and be counted as one who supports our sisters. Whether they are our sisters or brothers. Men too are very tired of this continued onslaught of lies and slander against women and now against Wendy Davis.

AG Greg Abbott is very deep in the corruption of what is loosely called Texas government.

I signed this petition from my email and shared on Tweeter and Facebook - Thanks Nancy.

Hip hip hooray for Wendy Davis the future Governor of Texas! I signed. Her story IS like many women. I'm so tired of these smug men with their smart alec remarks. Move over and let someone speak up and work for the majority of the people, both men and women, who work hard every day and hardly get anywhere. The top 10% have had enough "given" to them and they are not even grateful for it. They would not be where they are if it wasn't for the many who toil daily for them.

Good on her for pushing through many challenges to become so successful. These guys are fools for not holding her up as a total poster girl. While I am sure that I can't agree with many of her political views I can admire her determination and willingness to put herself in the ring.

Bless you for saying 'Action US' Nancy - but I read it to see what the GOP is up to this time. Wendy Davis' letter was brilliant - I hope and pray she gets in as Governor of Texas!

I live in Texas. I work for her through a national organization everyday. I want her to win. Here is a caveat. The governor of Texas actually can do very little. That is how the State Constitution was devised. The Lieutenant Governor can do more. I know no one believes us when we say this. But, it is true. They can stay an execution for thirty days ( they can only do it one time for each prisoner) no commutes or pardoning. They can call a special legislature sessions like Rick Perry did this summer. They can sign and veto laws. That's all. But, the country seems to see this as an important job. And that already elected one Governor to the White House. Yep, George W. Bush. In all the years that he was Governor the only time I saw him was when he was refusing a thirty day stay of execution.

She is very smart and savvy. I hope she will get a blue state legislature. Or getting her elected may be futile. Remember more can often be accomplished if we have changed the legislative branch.

Noted, action taken and letter read. The republicans are running scared and doing their best to smear anyone in their way, they do it all the time. They cannot win an election any other way. I hope Wendy wins.
