Right now, the future of coffee is uncertain. Rising temperatures, drought and changing weather patterns caused by climate change are making many key coffee-growing areas less suitable for coffee production. We drink about 600 billion cups of coffee...

I will pledge for sustainable coffee.

If I ever again use coffee, I will pay extra (much extra) for fair trade coffee.

Right now I only drink herbal tea.

Thank you, Kalliope, for the posting.

All coffee should be shade grown and organic. Both practices help the environment and ecosystems while enhancing the coffee itself.

As I reread the article, they never say what they mean as "sustainable". This kind of petition is useless and I can't sign such a thing. The important elements of coffee farming sustainability is getting it all under secondary crop trees such as fruit and using organic growing practices. I object as some Fair Trade labels use similar arguments as in this petition to subtly promote their labelling scam which ends up costing producers and roasters with unneeded expense..
