An Arkansas town has issued a fireworks ban after thousands of dead blackbirds rained down from the sky on the last two New Year's Eves.

When the blackbirds died that way I was freaked out. I hope the ban of fireworks solves the problem.

People don't think about how their celebrations effect animals. Fireworks are terrible for birds and other animals everywhere. So are massive displays of lights. Songbirds are having a tough enough time to survive because of habitat reduction and the trend of building big, glass highrises that they crash into.

It is a pity that fireworks can't be banned all over the world .They do far more harm than good and every year terrify poor birds and animals for no reason worth mentioning. it is just criminal what happened to the lovely blackbirds as they and many other song birds are already dying out. ,
