I submitted the same story from another source. I like yours better as it gives us a picture of the mother that should be blown up to billboard size for the world to see. I also liked the vote there asking people if she should be jailed. If she had the majority as a jury on that vote she would be in jail. I wonder about the mentality of those who voted no.

And we wonder why it is that there is so much bloody conflict around the world? Wherever we look? That this woman, (women) could go unpunished with sentences suspended is merely a slap that states, we've caught you at this, now don't do it again or we shall really make you serve the sentence! What kind of message is that sending?

One has to wonder how much activities such as this are driven by perhaps a cultural identity crisis that is revealed in the face of bloalization? Just a suggestion??? How else does one explain such absurdity?

This infuriates me. These children are subject to this kind of abuse and this women who call themselves parents are just given a slap on the wrist. But who is going to help these poor defenseless kids who obviously have no one standing up for them and doing what is right or what is best for them. And everyone wonders why we have so much violence in the world today-- it's because we have people like these ladies teaching it to our children from the time they are old enough to talk.

It is absolutely disgusting to me that the very women who should be held accountable, for this outrageous cruelty, walk away without serving jail time for their actions. The whole episode speaks volumes about man's loss of values and inability to hold life sacred. I cannot help but think that, in the back of these woman's mind, was a money making opportunity. I sincerely hope that such things as toddler fights do not catch on as a form of entertainment and that future cases, if there be any, are treated more seriously as a crime rather than poor behavior.

Just another example of how soft and useless the British justice system has become. These women should have been sent to prison. If either child had sustained serious injury that needed hosputal treatment, what explaination would have been given?

According to one newspaper the two children involved have been taken into Social Services care and will never be returned to the mother. In the same piece the mother even tried to defend the horrific act telling the police "I couldn't see any harm in toughening them up. I done the same with my kids."

Thankfull now the children have been taken away from this endless cycle of violence, they can, over time learn that not every adult behaves in such a way and that violence is not the answer to lifes problems.

Maybe the reason Judge Francis Gilbert QC, didnot send these evil women to prison is because it would only add to the overcrowding in Britains prisons (tough, break the law, pay the price) or he knew some bleeding hearted, Politically Correct obssesive would be beating down the door to the prison screamig "it's against their Human Rights to be held in prison, then demanding huge compensation payments for the 'stress and mental anguish' suffered whilst in prison.

The thing is, it's not just the British judicial system that is soft. All too often the papers, the television, and the internet news sites report child abuse of one type or another and then state that the perpetrators get off with - at most! - a 'slap on the wrist'!! Children are evidently nothing more than possessions - and low valued possessions at that!
It's disgusting!! The offenders should be sentenced to suffer the same thing!
