Signed! The situation with the wolves all over the U.S. is greatly distressing! I have been signing petitions like this since 2004! I was enlisted in the cause by one of my sisters who loved wolves (she still does) and since then, I've signed more petitions than I can begin to count! I'm fed up with people who truly believe the scourge of wildlife is the wolf. It 's *because* we have wolves that there are so many other species of wildlife!

THere has been heavy poaching of Mexican WOlves and the tiny population is still prevented from being enhanced sufficiently by certain special interests.

I fail to understand exactly why white settlers in North America want the entire world to be as if it is their private yard, but even though the native wolf was killed off several generations ago, the fearful fantasies of these people still exist and take precedence over facts, ecological and biological findings, and the inherent right of all living things to exist.
THere is some extremely psychologically disturbed pleasure in those who advocate the killing of the wolf.

Here I wnat ot add that ALL wolves need protection from this demented killing.
Below is the place where comment on both the attempt to remove federal protection form the Northern Gray WOlf, and the advocation of stronger protections for the Mexican Gray Wolf can be accomplished.
I also append a strong concern over state management where wolves have been delisted. Although generalised, it referes to a problem which has not received sufficient concern by the US government or by citizens.

The most effective action you can do is to go directly to here:!documentDetail;D=FWS-HQ-ES-2013-0073

And comment on the proposed delisting.

Idaho, Wyoming, Minnesota, and Wisconsin have developed extremely corrupt management. Idaho Dept of Fish and Game for instance, gains almost 1/2 their funding from sales of hunting licences and tags. What this means is that their decisions are made in favor of hunting lobby pressures.

Minnesota lost close to 30% of its formerly STABLE wolf population in just 2 years. Such state control through killing will fragment, extinguish, and genetically harm the wolf in a very short time.
You must mention that such overreduction is extremely deleterious to the species.

Understand that they do NOT care whether you find killing for pleasure immoral and atrocious.
Yet it is worthwhile to mention your anger and disgust at this practice.

Hunting must be returned to a solely subsistence activity, and wolf hunting has no place in the USA with its present culture and population.

Wolves have been shown by scientific studies to reduce erosion in areas where ungulate species unrestrained by this vital keystone of natural living systems has been killed off by humans. The human killing of wolves must end.

Oh, oops - sorry, must've hit send twice?! I see comments to the effect that we should be concerned about all wolves, not just the Mexican wolves. I agree but would suggest that we should be concerned by the threats - very direct and immediate - to ALL LIFE - by human activity, disregard, greed, selfishness, ignorance and outright malevolence.
