A tribunal in Washington, D.C. that nobody elected recently issued a verdict that potentially hinders the democratic rights of millions of people. It ruled that a foreign company may continue to sue El Salvador for not letting the company mine gold there.

Clearly the pact referred to here was intended to allow for this very possibility. This is capitalism at its best, doing its worst. This is corporate greed over rights. This is corporate greed over compassion. This is corporate greed over sovereignty of a nation. Here we see bullying on the grandest of scales.

That being said, I wonder what will happen when they really push little El Salvador. What will be the reaction of what may be their biggest export into North America, one of the biggest and most violent gangs in the world, MS13? Do they feel any allegiance to El Salvador? I wonder. If so, what will they do?
