If Switzerland Can Crack Down on CEOs, Why Not the US?

Does anyone seriously doubt that, if America had the same national referendum system that Switzerland does, voters in the United States would vote just as aggressively as the Swiss have to curb CEO abuses?

Because the CEO's, one percents and the Republican party stop anything that stops there quest to make the US theirs and you will have to pay a high rent to stay

Frist of all Switzerland takes care of people while the US takes care of corporations.

Different form of government? And the fact that “I never said that my goal was the reduction of salaries. I just want shareholders to take responsibility for the levels of remuneration. If the shareholders want to waste company money by paying exorbitant amounts, that’s their problem.”

Thx Judy. You truly need to look for and hopefully find a way to counteract your system. The question is very valid. If the WILLPOWER from the people is there, in overwhelming mass voices, it can be done! But it will never succeed as long as there is still way too much indifference!

If someone muzzled the repugs, maybe something could be done about greedy CEOs.

Thanks for posting this, Judy. Americans need to know the type of shenanigans going on here with CEO oversized pay, and that other countries are taking the lead in reining this in. Maybe some type of "national call-in day" to members of Congress, asking them to address this would prompt them to initiate a bill.

Wish we could invite some of these people from Switzerland to give lectures to teach the US how to do it!
It makes me ill to see the amounts these CEO's are being paid. Thanks Judy

Thanks for all our comments, everybody. I do wish more people realized what was really happening to our economy. You'd think that their descent into poverty would urge them to get a clue!

Colleen- Switzerland had a REFERENDUM on this issue-a true DEMOCRATIC WAY! Sadly the US is FAR from such democratic means and that is why you need other measures of pressure. You all should also watch the video Dandelion posted ! (Wealth Inequality in America . - )
