The "takers" who threaten the dynamism and fairness of industrial capitalism the most in the 21st century are not the welfare-dependent poor -- the villains of Tea Party propaganda -- but the rent-extracting, unproductive rich.

I wonder if Lind has studied Henry George. The basic premise of Henry George is that there should be taxes except tax on land. Think about it. In other words tax equals rent.

I think of entrepreneurs as those who put up their own money and open a small business. That business by existing grows the community, each business owned by "mom and pops" may hire only a few people, multiply that buy many little businesses and we have a rich, healthy economy one community at a time. I do not think of Vulture - huh, that is Venture Capital as an honest business, nor do I respect those born with silver spoons in their ears as being any thing special because they grew their own inheritance. Those who have taken from the poor and fed the few rich at the top are nothing exceptional, in fact they are draining the economy. This country was special because of each little guy that made a living for his family, hired others and paid them fairly. Not because a few take advantage of each "loophole" and rig the system so that none but the rich have opportunity.

Being rich is not the sin. The sin is getting rich through political power/connections rather than good old fashioned hard work and a fair playing field. It's been a long time since we had a real free market that Mom and Pop could compete in.

No one likes the ugly way that things have become through all the political levering. Think about it - if the government had no money or favors to give, who would be able to corrupt the system? No one. Giving more money to the government through taxes is not the answer. Leveling the playing field by taking away the levers is.

obecnie pogłębia się dysproporcja między nielicznymi nieprzyzwoicie bogatymi i całą resztą w większości bardzo biedną.

If only people would realize that the 47% who don't pay taxes.....don't make enough money to pay taxes. They are the ones struggling; many stuck in the "gray area" between actually having a job and earning a living, but making just a bit too much to qualify for food stamps....but not enough to actually afford to buy decent food. The number of people coming "off the unemployment rolls" aren't all coming off because they've now found jobs. They're just losing their "safety net." It absolutely disgusts me to know that the wealthiest in America are perfectly happy to hide that wealth to avoid paying taxes. Filthy rich....suitable title.

OK, I don't really support any form of violence, nor do I want to go back to the Victorian age in anything ... but it's fun to think about treating these people as philanderers were treated then - horsewhipped if they dared to look at a respectable woman, "cut dead" (the term of the time for looking through them as if they didn't exist and certainly not speaking to them) by all honest people, and my favorite, refused church membership because they were "open and notorious evil livers."
