Tribe's Fight for Land Rights Goes Back Long Before Pipeline

ETP did not advance its cause when chief executive Kelcy Warren told PBS that he wished the tribe had consulted with them earlier. Chairman Archambault said that the tribal council stated objections to the pipeline in a meeting with ETP in 2011.

Thanks Judy--lying or considering statements forbidding support irrelevant of a nation with right to the land under consideration should at least lead to him no longer being CEO in the Sunoco takeover.

You'd think the author could at least spell Coulee right.

“This government honors international treaties like they are the Holy Grail, but within our own homeland, they find ways to break them,” said Standing Rock Sioux Chairman David Archambault, who under the treaties and American law is the head of a domestic sovereign nation.

Just how is a pipeline leak 90 to 115 feet underneath Lake Oahe going to be repaired?! It is not safe. Period.

Enough broken treaties! It has to stop somewhere; although it never should have happened even once.

Kelsey Warren and his people are so arrogant and used to getting their way they thought they could ram this through. I'm sure they didn't expect the truth to come out at all. Thanks for that link, JL.
