Conway will also host a fundraiser for the Alberta Prosperity Fund, which said her visit will be "a call to action for Alberta industry whose competitiveness and market access have been restricted by excessive regulation and public protests."

hopefully the "excessive regulation and public protests" will continue to restrict where necessary despite the ignorance and greed of our leaders

Why do we need Trump's mouthpiece Kellyanne Conway trotting around Canada kissing up to the tar sands industry? Trump is totally in bed with the oil industry, so we are going to have her up there moneygrubbing for the Alberta Prosperity Fund. As if that were not bad enough, Trump & Co. are set on reviving the infernal Keystone XL pipeline.

Good morning and thank you for this article - it is so sad -that after all the protesting and fighting we went thru to keep this dirty tar sands pipeline out of our country -off our land where we grow our food and away from our water supplies- that trump and his minions would bring it all back with a stroke of a pen- GOD ONLY KNOWS HOW WE WILL SURVIVE 4 years with these people in charge- sincerely KAY M.

Noted. Thanks, Judy.
Well, it looks like Obama didn't do his job of getting us off fossil fuels like he should have done. And, in pushing that KXL pipeline in the first place, he did all of us a great disservice. Yeah, his LEGACY stinks.

"Excessive regulation and public protests," of course: the bane of greed and destruction, or is it destruction for the sake of greed? This woman is quickly becoming the antithesis of King Midas: Everything she touches devolves to shit!

Top Donald Trump aide Kellyanne Conway will make a trip to the Alberta oil sands before January’s inauguration, a right-wing Canadian group announced on Tuesday.

Conway will visit Alberta in January and tour the province's oil-producing region, the Alberta Prosperity Fund announced on Tuesday.

Alberta's oil sands are a key driver of Canada's oil industry and the source of the tar sands oil that was set to flow through the Keystone XL pipeline. President Obama rejected that project last year, but Trump has said he will approve the project once he takes office.
Keystone developer TransCanada said after Trump's election that it plans to “engage” with Trump. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) also used a meeting with Trump to promote the Keystone project, which Republicans and the oil industry say will create jobs.

Conway will also host a fundraiser for the Alberta Prosperity Fund, which said her visit will be “a call to action for Alberta industry whose competitiveness and market access have been restricted by excessive regulation and public protests.”

“This visit by such an influential member of a U.S. administration should stand as a call to action for all Alberta industry," Prosperity Fund founder and President Barry McNamar said in a statement.

“I hope that Ms. Conway receives an enthusiastic welcome here in Alberta and can return to the US with an "informed attitude towards Canadian export products."

McNamar and others formed the Prosperity Fund in 2015 after Alberta voters swept the center-left New Democratic Party into power. Premier Rachel Notley opposes the Keystone XL pipeline project and has proposed a stout carbon tax in the province.

For a man who cares for no one but himself trump sure has a big heart supposedly for Canada's economy. I'm sure it has absolutely nothing to do with the company sticks he owns. Kelly (the robot) Conway will go do and say anything she's programmed to. But I am very disappointed in Obama as lack of action.

I pity the people in Alberta who have to live with this ecological disaster. I'm sure the people who are profiting from it are pleased to have Conway and Trump promoting this mess.
