The Denver Zoo is home to two rare palm- cockatoo hatchlings. The chicks were hatched -- one Jan. 18 and the other Feb. 10 -- from separate breeding pairs at the zoo. Palm cockatoos hatched in captivity are rare.

Shirley S. - I was going to say, kinda ugly, but the cuteness overshadows that.

So ugly they're cute. Would rather see them born in their natural habitat. But at the rate we are going not much natural habitat will be left.

All babies are precious...these little ones are sooo cute!!! I adore birds...especially parrots! I am owned by nine parrots, two of them being a Moluccan Cockatoo and a Rose Breasted Cockatoo. Palm Cockatoo's are very large parrots...Google them and you will be in for a treat!!!!

LOVE kokies, one of them (unfortunately or luckily) lives with me, rescued (hit by car), requires lot of care, I do not care about the time I spend to take care of him, I love him. His name is Koki "very original". He has, (I believe) everything he needs. Sometimes when i go for a walk and see wild cockatoos playing in the trees I feel sorry for Koki and wanna cry because he cannot return to his environment. I collect pine cones for him he loves to destroy them, he also loves chocolate very much, however he get this treat only on his birthday (it is when we rescued him) because we do not know when he was born. TO ALL OF YOU MY FRIENDS, PLEASE do not buy kokies from pet shops unless u r very committed, they require a lot of LOVE and CARE, even if they not wild.
To ZOO in Denver: These are very rare species, Please take care of them, they deserve it, Cheers and good luck with them.
