I keep seeing that number as the cost for raising a child- $250G between birth and 18. That must be retail! Simplicity ppl. Come on!

Gee. the first solution that comes to mind is "If you can afford a child do not have a child!". Pretty simple since they figured out what causes pregnancy long long ago.
