America needs to pull its contracts out of China.. They don't deserve it. China has financed the genocide of Dharfurian innocents as well. The personal gain of the Chinese is the oppression of others and fuels their hatred of freedom and democracy. America also needs to work on its ethic of abusing minorities and the poor..police making false reports against the innocent, writing false tickets, harrassing and torturing people..America needs to take control of its own human rights abuses. The President of the USA should stay out of the opening ceremony although he may be concerned with America winning the Olympics. It would show solidarity to a human cause that is Universal. If Americans win for their sports greatness it will be based on that only not if the President shows up for the opening Ceremony. Business should never be handed out to Communist countries with severe records of human abuses or animals for that matter.

I think this video is marvelous he puts it over so well I just wonder if the Chinese staged this all along but it backed fired on them.
The Dali Lama was honoured for the peaceful work he has done with his people.

Tibetians being Buddhists are not agressive people. The fact that the worm has turned shows that the gentlest of human beings get agressive after too long a period of oppressive treatment. I feel that the Indian Govt. has not treated these neighbours of ours the right way. After all we did go to the help of Bangladesh when there were so called problems. So how is Tibet, another neighbour, any different? Could it be that we are more afraid of China than we were of Pakistan? Whatever the reason, we must do something to help these gentle people get the Chinese out.

The reason for not helping Tibet is economy. a boring word, that has no Morales. China is so important for the Australian market/economy and I am sure also for America. $$$$$ signs all over it. But I don't buy anything made in China anymore. If you don't either, China will lose this power again! Love Richard Gere, just a great guy, on and off the movie screen.

Thank you for this video. And many thanks and much praise for Richard Gere.

Cultures may be progressive or retrogressive!! China is in a state of RETROGRESSION ie. return to a less advanced stage, or literally a reversal of development, a decline, deterioration of human qualities and culture. Unfortunately, the Chinese are stupid enough to not realize this. They, as a human culture will undoubtedly pay a very heavy price, - shunned by other communities and progressive cultures around the world. They (Chinese)choose to be "frogs in a confined and dirty well"!!!

Thank you. Richard Gere is right, the Chinese will not ever be a world power if they keep up their behaviour.
Rajan Sujan, you are so right too. I call it Chinese Alzheimers (reverting back to cave men behaviour) The Chinese can do something about it if they wish to do so , but they don't seem to want to.It's time the rest of the world makes them behave and withdraws their support for China and it's Goods and Services. But our Governments seem to be just as stupid and non-caring, and do nothing for the sake of $$$$$. It's disgusting!

Thankyou Richard Gere! This man knows whats rights! CHINA needs to be banned, for many reasons. For me its the ongoing cruelty to the Oceans Dolphines, mass murder. Tibet the horrible way they treat people, sending killing substance to the US in ways unoticeable for years. Anything that says CHINA on it I throw away! wont buy! nothing!
