In a practice condemned by respected and mainstream news media, TMZ has gone so far as to identify a 14-year-old male who is an alleged sex crime victim. He is the son of a movie star.

Noted. This is reprehensible reporting...disgusting. A 14-year old is supposed to be safeguarded from public knowledge of this type of crime. Because he is the child of a movie star should not abridge that right. I am fed up with the failure of the media to maintain some restraint and to get over the idea that if you are a person in the limelight then your life is an open book...you and your friends are grist for the news cycle. Sorry...this yellow journalism ticks me off. How dare they add to the grief of this youngster and his family! Drive this rag out of business. Thanks, Jennifer, for posting this and for your tolerance in allowing me to spew a bit.

TMZ was called "The Smoking gun" for years. It's appauling. It never does a fact check. It's no better than the rags you see in the check out at Grocery Store. We need to find who runs ads on its and write to them and or boycott. Another point a movie star child is not above the law.

It is WORSE than the checkout magazine rack!!! It is also the "dumb down" of the people to keep your mind on the fidelity of the entertainers and not look at the disease within the Government.

Children are children! Regardless of whose children they are!

Thank you for calling our attention to this blatant failure to protect!!!

Apologies for the previous blank post. This is likely to be traumatizing all over again for this young man. It doesn't matter if someone is a celebrity or the family of a celebrity when it comes to receiving their human rights and protection from traumatic crimes. He needs to recover without his name being bantered about as a victim.

What is so damned bothersome about the underage sex-capads in recent years is how the double standard is so painfully clear and sickening.

When it's a young girl, we recognize the horrible fate of this child's sexual future, taken by an older man. Too often it's a step-father or even worse, a biological father, who takes advantage of her innocence and her trust.

People laugh though when it's a boy. They call him 'the man' for having gotten 'some of that,' as if what has happened to him is not abuse too. It's wrong to not recognize this as abuse too. Actions that will also have an effect on the boy's sexual future . . .

Regarding the comment 'TMZ was called "The Smoking gun" for years.' Well, just because I never heard that doesn't mean it's not true, but there is a site called TheSmokingGun, which is owned by CourtTV (now TruTV) that has nothing to do with TMZ or it's antics.
