Signed with pleasure. It's so sad what the Greedy Obstructionist want to do to women, and even sader that many women can't even see through this and still support the likes of Romney and Santorum, and even Gingrich, the worst of the worst towards women.

I signed and posted on FB because any action against the status quo of conservative [lack of] thought is better than none. They don't listen to people very well, but perhaps if enough people sign, they'll know their jobs are in jeopardy. That's the only thing that motivates them besides the big bribery bucks they get through lobbyists, etc.

I just called Pro Flwers as I do buy flowers from them periodically. I requested talking to a manager and then vigorously expressed my disgust that they are still sponsoring this hateful disgrace of a human being. This manager, Ken, assured me that he too is disgusted and stated that Pro Flowers is gather all these phone calls, emails etc, and will be sending them to the station, demanding an apology. I'd much rather have them dotally disconnect with this horrible person, but at least they're getting lots of negative feedback and hopefully it will help put Rush off the air.

Allow the women to be on the panel as the women have more knowledge on contraceptions, birth control,
abortion than any man in Congress. After all, men do not have vaginas, wombs nor do they have periods and
they certainly do not give birth.

I've written to ProFlowers several times, called them once, and just sent them this list showing them that other companies are distancing themselves from the Hatred of Limbaugh, and that if they have any decency they too will drop sponsoring such a horrific, hateful, "non-human" being!

Here is a list of the companies we believe to be Rush's advertisers. (Note, things are happening very quickly, so we cannot guarantee right now that these are all current advertisers). We will update these as they react to the "Boycott Rush" movement, or confirm they are no longer supporting him.

•AutoZone (UPDATE: They appear to have dropped Rush!)
•Carbonite
•Century21
•Citrix
•Dominos (Update: Dominos says it is NOT an advertiser with Rush)
•eHarmony (UPDATE: eHarmony says it is NOT an advertiser with Rush)
•LegalZoom
•LendingTree
•LifeLock
•Oreck
•ProFlowers
•Sears
•Sleep Train: (UPDATE: Victory! They have pulled their ads! -- source)
•Sleep Number: (UPDATE: Victory! They have pulled their ads! -- source)
•Quicken Loans (UPDATE: Appears to be a victory here too, as they are reportedly pulling ads as well!)
•TaxResolution
(Again, the caveat -- this is the list of advertisers we have compiled from multiple sources, and while we strive to be accurate, we cannot guarantee that every one of them is correct. We will update asap if we discover errors or changes)

(This list is due to the untiring efforts of Seth E.)

I thank both Eddie and Seth E for the updates. According to Keith Olbermann, it looks as though Carbonite is seriously considering also doing so. Therefore send some emails to them, a few more emails and it may tip that sponsor to actually doing so.

Sadly, this is the response I just got from ProFlowers.com Obvously, they have no interest at this time to do what's right and distance themselves fro the Hateful likes of Limbaugh. This saddens me as I have dealt with this company a fair amount and felt they were a good company that would surely do what's right.

Dear Eddie,

Thank you for your feedback. We spend our advertising dollars across a wide spectrum of media channels. The views and opinions of the media outlets and personalities we advertise with are not necessarily those of our company.

We simply wish to delight our customers with fresh and unique gifting products, and that will continue to happen to the best of our abilities.

Hateful and abusive language towards women is completely unacceptable. Rush Limbaugh has really crossed the line this time and you need to stop advertising on his show immediately.

Eddie O. (95)
Friday March 2, 2012, 8:19 pm
I did express verbally to them that a majority of their flowers go to women and it is in their best interest to support women, rather than support someone who is so hateful towards women.

And, this is the written email I had sent them, that generated their callous response:

I just started dating a new girlfriend and would love to be sending her ProFlowers as the days and weeks progress.

I will absolutely never buy any more flowers from you, however, unless you publicly denounce the hate mongering of Rush Limbaugh.

His hatred for women is way, way, over the top and it's a disgrace to your company to still be sponsoring him. I was extremely saddened and disgusted when I learned that you are one of the various companies that sponsor him.

I have seen many, many, post online by outraged people over these recent hateful rantings by Limbaugh, and there are many, people who will be boycotting the companies that do not drop him in the very near futre.

I have bought from ProFlowers various times in the past, have always love the flowers and service, and hate thinking that I will have to quit buying from you in you don't distance you from hateful people like Rush Limbaugh.

And, I have promoted your company to all my friends, who have also been buying flowers from you over the past 10 or so years. If I don't hear that you've done the right thing here, I will absolutely domote your company to as many people as I can.

Sincerely,
Eddie Obler

Let's keep up the pressure and demand that these companies do the right thing and pull their money out of supporting such blatant hatefulness. Limbaugh is a major disgrace to any thinking, compassionate, "human" being. He needs to go and be put permenantly off the air. He just breeds hatred and divisiveness and is very destructive towards us having a healthy country.

Thanks Dandelion,

I just sent this to ProFlowers after signing the petition, as I truly want them to wake up and do what's right.

WHY do you want to support such a hate mongering being??? The heat will continue until you wake up and denounce and distance your company from this hateful, repulsive, pretense of a human being!!!

Help Stop the Hate from Rush Limbaugh
Senator Leland Yee and others are calling on Rush Limbaugh to apologize for mocking the Chinese language and culture on his radio program.

Senator Yee said:

“Recently, Rush Limbaugh reached a new low as he mocked the Chinese language and culture. His classless act is an insult to over 3,000 years of cultural history and is a slap in the face to the millions of Chinese Americans who have struggled in this country and to a people who constitute one-quarter of the world’s population. His comments belittle the contributions of the Chinese community and are sadly indicative of the bigotry that has often plagued his commentary and lined his pockets. Mr. Limbaugh owes the Chinese community an apology for this pointless and ugly offense.”

If you agree, sign the petition to condemn Rush Limbaugh's remarks and to call on his sponsors to pull their advertisements from his program.

I'm sure you're all aware of Rush Limbaugh's tirade against the woman who testified before Congress re contraception. It looks like all of his advertisers have withdrawn their ads from running on his show.... all except one: ProFlowers.

I've put up an article about the big bully Rush...but not so much for the article itself as it is to gain support for boycotting ProFlowers because of their foolish stance.

You'll be amazed at the note they sent me in response to my complaint about their support of Limbaugh. I was stunned myself.

I'd appreciate your "advertising" for my post this time. I'd love to have ProFlowers inundated with responses that will show them they've made a bad move by sticking with THE BIG BULLY, RUSH!

Thank you very much, my friends.

Just got two more "canned" responses from ProFlowers and this was my response to them:

To whom it concerns,

If you have no conscience or morals and if the views of who you support with your advertising dollars make no difference to you, maybe you want to advertise on Al Queda propaganda networks or even worse, if Hitler was around you could use your dollars to support his sick and hateful ways.

I can't even believe you would admit that you couldn't care less what kind of harm your advertising dollars do! This is the epitome of irresponsibility and truly makes you a very, very, disgraceful company in my view.

I don't want to wish harm on anyone, but suspect it won't be long till you realize just how many thousands of people you have royally pissed off, and who absolutely won't buy your products or service any more. On this one petition alone, there were over 90,000 people who signed it and promised to boycott ProFlowers.

Just think, if on an average these 90,000 people only bought one order from you each year, how much money you just threw away due to your inability to see what you're doing to your company! Or, is it that in your own sick way you truly support disrespecting women and hateful, insulting, rants towards others? Can you really be this stupid not to understand how powerful negative publicity and boycotts can be???

Hoping you get a clue as to what you're doing,

I wish to add this: In Carolyn McCarthy's petition ( thanks to Eddie) it says "..Republican politicians have been largely silent about their radio spokesman." The DCCC.org petition gives us a taste of Rethugs responses, though:
excerp: "But even after Limbaugh called Fluke a “slut” and a “prostitute”, all Republican leaders can do is offer B.S. responses.

Mitt Romney: “I'll just say this, which is, it’s not the language I would have used.”

Rick Santorum: “He's being absurd, but that's you know, an entertainer can be absurd.”

Finally, Speaker Boehner, refusing to speak for himself, had his spokesman refuse to call on Rush to apologize.

Ok now, as Edwin said, remember this in Nov. -But who in the world would still vote for THAT gang anyways...

You go Eddie....proud of you!

Angelika, thanks for all the help in this, on this thread and other threads I've seen you on. You too, proud of you.

Mitt Romney.....no slut is beneath him, but he'd find a more educated word to say the same thing. After all isn't that what he did say.....not the language I would of used. He didn't condemn what Rush said, just he'd choose another word.

Rick Santorum.....All pious and such. Wants to tell everyone what to do in their bedrooms but is ok if Rush, an entertainer can be absurb. Well Rick, I find what you say is rather absurb as well and you are a hypocrite!

Boehner....Mr. Agent Orange.....one word for you......Coward. Don't suppose you got any tears for this young citizen that another citizen highly insulted. No? Didn't think so.

And the rest.....Your silence is deafening. Many are hearing you loud and clear.

Great news about ProFlowers. I just wonder how many thousands of dollars they have lost, and how many customers will never use them again due to their arrogance and stupidity??? How stupid could they be not to see how badly they were shooting themselves in the foot, or how arrogant they were to assume that our protest and boycotts didn't matter to them! Obviously, a wonderful example of how not to run a company.

Thank you Angelika for providing the link to her testimony. I had only seen bits and pieces of it, as I've been busy combating the ignorance that has been projected upon the women, and the men who love them, in this Country.

Sandra Fluke's speech is brilliant, intelligent, and compassionate....compared to Rush Limbaugh's rant....well there is NO comparison.

Rush should be ashamed of himself for turning that testimony into the trash talk that he did. But he is too ignorant to even realize how much of a fool he presents himself as.

I feel we have all worked together here, as a wonderful, powerful, and very productive team. We have willingly spent our precious time and effort to get the word out, sign the petitions, voice our perspective on things, and demand justice in the face of horrific disrespect, hatred, arrogance and stupidity.

It doesn’t get any worse than Rush Limbaugh and we valiantly stood up to him and knocked him to his knees where it hurts, financially. He obviously is quite heartless, and only cares about money, so this is where the battle needed to be staged.

And, we staged it there in a very thorough manner, and the results are incredible. We’re talking about big money, big business, and massive support towards Limbaugh that has been going on for many years. We completely disrupted that and helped get many, many, thousands of people to wake up, stand up for respect and justice, and demand the financial supporters of Limbaugh pull their support away and distance themselves from him. Even one of the dumbest of supporters, ProFlowers, finally woke up and caved to the pressure we were putting on them. We need to do the same with AOL and anyone else who hasn’t gotten the message yet.

Anyway, we did great here, and it truly feels good. And, while enjoying our success, we can use this positive experience to continually remind ourselves of the power of the people, when we face all the ignorance, stupidity, corruption and greed that is still so prevalent within our society and the world in general.

Let’s keep choosing our battles wisely, uniting behind justice, respect, and fairness, and wake up the opposition and force them to change their ways to something that’s much more healthy for our beautiful world and the precious people who live here.

Much, deep appreciation and praise to all who united behind this extremely worthy cause. Sincerely, Eddie

Aol Rush Limbaugh

WASHINGTON -- AOL, the parent company of The Huffington Post, has become the eighth advertiser to pull its money from Rush Limbaugh's syndicated radio program since he called Georgetown law student Sandra Fluke, who spoke out in favor of contraception coverage, a "slut" and a "prostitute" last week, according to a high-level Huffington Post source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, but with a distinctly Greek accent.

"At AOL one of our core values is that we act with integrity," said Maureen Sullivan, an AOL spokeswoman who confirmed the decision. "We have monitored the unfolding events and have determined that Mr. Limbaugh’s comments are not in line with our values. As a result we have made the decision to suspend advertising on The Rush Limbaugh Radio show."

please send an email to Armed Forces Network, asking them to support servicewomen and women veterans and stop airing Rush Limbaugh's radio program.

In addition to the eleven sponsors that have withdrawn their advertising from Rush Limbaugh's radio program, now a group of female veterans are calling on Armed Forces Network to drop Rush Limbaugh from its programming. Here is an excerpt from the letter they sent to the network:

Rush Limbaugh has a freedom of speech and can say what he wants, but in light of his horribly misogynistic comments, American Forces Radio should no longer give him a platform. Our entire military depends on troops respecting each other – women and men. There simply can be no place on military airwaves for sentiments that would undermine that respect. When many of our female troops use birth control, for Limbaugh to say they are “sluts” and “prostitutes” is beyond the pale. It isn’t just disrespectful to our women serving our country, but it’s language that goes against everything that makes our military work.

Support servicewomen and women veterans by joining their call: send an email to Armed Forces Network, asking them to stop airing Rush Limbaugh's radio program.

Keep fighting,

Thanks Eddie, have signed and put it on a thread you have not frequented. A female Veteran saw it and was delighted to see the link and is going to make sure other female Veterans also see it.

Tell Limbaugh's advertisers to stop supporting his unforgivable attacks on women.
Dear Friend,

Since we started our campaign on Friday, at least nine major advertisers have pulled their support from the Rush Limbaugh Show,2 the most popular commercial radio show in the country and a key piece of the rightwing message machine. The backlash has been so great that even after doubling down in defense of his reprehensible comments, Limbaugh was forced to issue a rare — and totally insufficient — apology stating "my choice of words was not the best."3

Rush Limbaugh is clearly feeling the pressure of our activism. But his so-called apology isn't nearly enough. After his long history of being supported by advertisers while making offensive and irresponsible statements, he shouldn't get yet another chance. This should be the last straw.

He still retains advertisers who continue to fund his misogynistic rants. We need your help to build on our momentum and deal Republicans a major setback in their war against women.

Tell Rush Limbaugh's advertisers: Stop Supporting Rush Limbaugh's attacks on women. Click here to sign the petition.

Thank YOU, Dandelion, that's wonderful news although Care2 reportedly has 18,510,614 so there's still many people on Care2 who aren't with us just yet. Hopefully we can reach a fair amount of these in the next days and months. Your endless efforts are deeply appreciated!

Great news that we're now up to twenty six advertisers having dropped Limbaugh along with one Hawaiian station.

We are authoring this post to end the rumors sparked by an inaccurate statement made by Representative Jackie Speier (D-Calif.) on the House floor of the U.S. Congress on March 1, 2012. Responding to the recent controversial remarks made by Rush Limbaugh, Rep. Speier asked women to boycott those companies that sponsored Limbaugh’s radio show. Century 21 Real Estate was cited incorrectly, among a number of other companies, as a sponsor of the show.

CENTURY 21 IS NOT A SPONSOR OF RUSH LIMBAUGH

I'll add this to my stories as well.
