It,s very interesting; that these types know how to pick the locks on americans livlihoods and pensions and pocket our monies with their gimmicks and scams and after they have picked their teeth, with their profits and gains, that have strapped the rest of us, they have the nerve......... to act superior over the rest of us. they talk about our laziness and that ...we.. should pull our ownselves up by our own boot straps. Well.. we been there done that... then they came along and robbed us blind... like dear old mitt an newt. Or they put us in an unjust war and we suffered and survived with pain... now you want to mock us... wonder how that makes us feel..... The problem with our societities are the selfish people...... who talk without a heart or a brain. like the ones in this article.

Brion McClanahan - You are a minence to Society.

Many a bad choices has caused the downfall of american society taking our jobs to other countries, importing mainly from China and doing away with American Factories.

Not to mention that anyone at anytime (INCLUDING YOU) can fall prey to an unexpected disaster or illness and with the cost of Living, Insurance, Hospital bills and all can find themselves literally broke.

People have paid into the Social Security System thru their work and paid for their right to receive the necessary help, food assistance,and medical treatment and if they are a citizen of this Country .... to take those rights away from them would be inhuman and a clear violation of their civil and human rights.

Nobody knows how long they are going to be able to work or can prepare for unexpected disasters nor do we have any say in what the government chooses to do with our money or our jobs.

I think that "WE THE PEOPLE" ought to be allowed to vote on and the decisions that the government makes regarding Health Benefits, going to war, jobs sent overseas and so forth. How did WE the People become so obsolete and invisible?

Thank you Tasunka. The cruel words that some of the more fortuate are throwing at those who are already hurting is horrific. As Dusty said, one never knows when illness, job loss, or an accident may befall them or a family member. He might not realize, but maybe there are people he alreadys knows that are having to rely on Food Stamps, but it's people like him that make them feel like second class citizens so they suffering quietly to themselves.

Came to this thread earlier this afternoon but by the time I had finished reading the article I was so angry I couldn't calm down enough to post a comment. So I returned, much calmer...past the 420 time of day :-)...with something in mind to post that would not cause me to be banned..and what happended next...well dang it all...,,,Tom Cat ...once again [but that's more than ok :-) beat me to what I more or less had thought of commenting. Now.. I am left once again with only thoughts/words that would not doubt leave a 'blue streak' across this comment space....bring my blood pressure to another boiling point and leave me wanting to kick the poop,of which he is more than full of, out of this blood sucking brain dead Brion McClanahan who is still ,obviously so, a big supporter of the Nazi Party/GOP party ...of which there isn't much, if any difference, between those two since the low life coward Dubya Bushler slithered his way into the White House back in 2000....

Brion McClanahan looks and sounds like the arrogant, cold-hearted jerk that he is. Not only does he look down at people who are struggling through hard times, he wants to take away any scrap of dignity they might have as well. Would this make him feel better? If so, I'd have to ask him "why"? If he enjoys making less fortunate people feel humiliated or perhaps "grateful" that they're receiving some kind of public assistance, then he has issues that require professional evaluation. And I hope he doesn't call himself a Christian --because he doesn't qualify!

Deep deep breaths Jae, calm down, we need you around for the good struggle another day, don't want you having heart attack, but as with any good decent human being, the likes of Brion McClanahan tend to push our triggars as they are so absolutely lacking in any human compassion, or as I say, they are heartless.

And very true Dusty, he should recall that statement, There but for the Grace....go I. He needs to offer Grace to others as obviously if he has never had to use the Food Stamp program or any other program he has most certainly received the Grace from the Great Spirit.....it is the Great Mystery why those who have received the Grace do not appreciate that, so they can learn the lesson of Compassion.

I shattered a vertabrae in my lower back and ruptured four discs in a accident at work. Working sixty hours plus every week was the norm for me. I am not lazy, nor do I take advantage of the government, but if it were not for the food stamps I would be homeless. My income for disability is less than 1,000 a month, rent, utilities . . . leaves me with 32 dollars profit a month after everything is paid. There are thousands of people who lie to get food stamps, and disabliity, but there are people like me who really need the help so, please do not judge us harshly, judge those who are takers of our system, who lie to get what does ot belong to them.

funny when I was on food stamps my state tax per month was a little more than what I got in food stamps... SO I didn't use ANY of their tax dollars... Funny thing people kept telling me to get a job, I looked at them and said I have one. One woman kept it up and my daughter told her I did have a job and SO did she... I just smirked and told her that she was one divorce away from being in my shoes. And they won't be as fancy as hers...
They are losing the battle on abortion so they are going after strong rules and birth control... gesh after birth they are on their own... right OH you do know the majority of food stamps are for kids...

OK...the needy, animals and Ben and Jerry are all elements of our society. Now that we are becoming less "free" and more regimented, let's just blow them all up. who needs them??? Per USA Today Feb. 2012

The number of families living on $2 or less per person per day for at least a month in the USA has more than doubled in 15 years to 1.46 million.

When food stamps are included as income, the number of households in extreme poverty, defined as living on $2 a day, drops to 800,000, Shaefer says. That's up from 475,000 in 1996.

So I guess what this jerk is saying, either grovel for the food in which to sustain life.....or die.

Seems to be the reality today, as Alan Grayson (D) stated in Washington DC when the Universal Health Care discussion was taking place, "Die Quickly". Koch (cockroach) Brothers didn't like that, and they threw all sorts of Big Money to getting him un-elected. It worked, but thankfully Alan Grayson doesn't back down easy and is running again, and he still makes public appearances on the internet and television.

Noted. Anyone who knows me, knows I am fighting for diability(thank goodness it is almost over). I have spent my retirement to keep things going. I ran out of money about nine months into the battle. I had to rely on public assistance for help. So I guess I should give up my right to vote since I receive food stamps. Well, I have only one thing to say: CRAM IT YOU STUPID GRABASTIC PIECE OF AMPHIBIAN S**T!!!!!

I am 72 years old. I have worked all my life. I served in the military and served in the reserve putting in 28.5 years total.
I have paid into Social Security, I have paid my taxes. I have paid and worked for my pension. II don't want charity, only what I have paid for.
We have people in government who hate the poor, hate education, hate gays, and hate people who belong to different religions.
This is not the America that was promised to me, the America that I served in the military to protect or the future that I worked for.

I think they just want to create a class of people so desperate that they can have cheap labor. They make policies that make the rich richer and the poor poorer, and then they want to take away the right to vote to those they successfully harmed?

Every citizen should have a right to vote. If the majority of people in your vote so badly that letting then them all vote is a disaster, then you should fix the underlying problems that make it the case (you probably need to spend more on education and social programs if this is the case), not try to turn off the alarm indicator by not letting people vote. Taking away the vote means turning our democracy into an oligarchy. We might as well have feudal lords if we do that and not have bothered with the American Revolution.

This reminds me of Charles Dickens "Christmas Carol": Wish this jerk is being haunted by three ghosts, to make him turn into "compassionate good", just like it happened to E. Scrooge. Many poor people are humble and honest; they don't simply know how to slide though "the back door", to trick the law in order to get more money. They don't have an accountant and use every possibility to make even more money. The middle class and the rich are not known to be fair - they need to be told a lesson about solidarity and dignity. I wonder what happens if Brion McClanahan gets ill, losing his job by fate ?! If only he had a brain, I'd say "think again".

Well, just line right up and have your rights taken away Veronica. Pay for it too, as who else is going to pay for millions of people getting tested who are on Food Stamps to be tested MONTHLY? Are you expecting the already poor to pay for it? Or will you donate into the pool of paying for it?

This is a slippery slope, next thing you know they want you to be drug tested to get a home loan, a car loan, to rent an apartment. Oh the list will go on and on and on. The only time I can see drug testing, is for airline pilots, those who drive trains, and someone that might be acting as if they are not in control of themselves, or acting not like their normal selves. Then I'd do it to make sure they were not having some medical problem so they could be helped.

Sadly, there are a lot of people who will agree with him. Those people, however, have probably never had to worry about paying bills or if they would have enough to eat. Food stamp recipients come from all walks of life, the program was created to keep people from starving to death. I will never understand why so many resent it.

I watched this on Countdown and just seethed. Some great comments here--but I haven't noticed anyone mention who's making money off these food stamps. An article from the Center for American Progress, in The Progress Report, 11/3/11, "Banks Make Billions in Tax dollars Off Food Stamps" explains that every time someone uses their card, the banks get a fee. Sorry I don't have the link. But, it seems so-called "conspiratists" are right--the wealthy ARE actually making money off keeping people unemployed and poor. So, for those who aren't angry and disgusted enough already....it's enough to make you scream.

I'm from the UK and have been watching this, to some extent, from over here. The poor are easy targets because no-one cares, they don't vote or not enough to worry about. My indignation was with Schwartenegger who pushed a comfortably off state into the red and then dramatically reduced payments to the elderly and disabled, forcing many onto the streets, because he could. Perhaps he should pay them out of HIS money to make up for what was HIS fault, not theirs.

I also watched the canvas suburbs appear and the lack of sympathy with this. No-one chooses to live in a tent camp if there is a choice. There is an old fashioned mind set that the poor are only poor because they are too lazy to work. But read the history of what happened in Britain and it shows another deliberate intention, money. The poor were denied the knowledge of birth control as the factory owners etc wanted a continuous supply of cheap labour. Labour was cheap as dozens wanted the job (so, proving how uniterested they were in working). The middle class did not understand why there were so many children refusing to face the many child deaths from the terrible way that they were forced to live and no access to medical assistance as they could not afford to pay for it. Many men drank to divorce themselves from the terrible lives that they had to live and were condemned for it, if they had money to drink then they had too much money. Then we look at education, often denied to the poor because they have to work to support the family rather than study, not their choice. That education is difficult for the poor to attain and then jobs are denied them because of their ethnic origin.

I could continue but don't want to turn this into an essay and guess that you all follow me. This mindset seems to have continued into the twenty first century and in most countries. Until that changes then we will have such articles, which I got too angry to finish!

I'd love to go out and pick some land and claim it as my own (as God gave it to us to share), cut down some trees and build a log cabin, plant a garden to grow my own food, and be otherwise as self sufficient as possible, just like our ancestors did creating this country. Of course, we ALL are too dependent upon our 'government' for everything. However, until we can do things exactly like our ancestors did who "founded" this country, then I guess we have to do things differently. Anybody know where I can settle some free land and be self sufficient?

Hmm, I thought when I went for my MFA so I could get good paying and rewarding job teaching in a college, I WAS pulling myself up by my bootstraps...but "someone" seems to have stolen them..... along with the means to GO to college for anyone not born with a silver spoon in their mouths.

Oh I hope Mr. O loses his job and has a hard time finding more employment for awhile. Not for forever of course as I don't like to see anyone have hard times. But just long enough to let him experience what it's like on the other side.

I am from Canada. but are taxes are really high. we don't have food stamps, but we pay some of the highest taxes in the world. Not , by a long shot, I would say a majority of us are middle to lower class citizens, and you guessed it unemployment is on the increase!
Well, to make a long story short , I was totally happy and very good working at my job as a travel agent, this was my career, and I loved it!
Then came the day I was diagnosed with Multiple Slerosis! Eventually I had to leave my job, had to learn to walk again, and find my sense of humor! I am now on a local and disability pension (which is very little), occassionally walk with a cain and find a reason to laugh everyday! Oh yeah, and the Brion McClanahans in life, can quite simply go to hell!

Agree with many of the observations discussed through the thread. Would add that religionists of all stripes (regardless of which religion) are pushing their beliefs on people and have been for centuries now and will not quit doing this, apparently.

It's all part of the human propensity to force others to "do it my way, because (or else)!" In the past, our species showed very little restraint pushing around other humans and all other species as much as possible (the extreme form of this would be slavery). Until someone sticks their head up and says, "NO, you do NOT get to push others around and force them to do it your way, back off, live and let live," as the Founders of this great nation did, it will continue.

Jefferson et al must be collectively rolling in their hallowed graves seeing and hearing the noxious, narrow-minded and often hypocritical antics of the "religious" who *do* continually push their agenda on all other Americans using the excuse that this is a "christian nation" (which it is NOT), and that "god" gave them permission to bully and pressure people to accept the doctrines they attempt to push down the public's throat (you made your god up, keep it, please!).

What I think is most hilariously ridiculous - were it not for this obnoxious, delusional behaviour being so overtly self-serving - is that these same religionist hypocrites scream about "government" intruding and "dictating" things to them, and out of the other side of their mouth, they scream about how this same, HATED "government" should be outlawing and banning abortions and punishing women who won't comply. Anyone ever notice that one? I have a friend who just like this - she can't see the contradiction - and gets furious when I point this out to her, telling me that *I* just "don't get it."

I do get it. People want power over others, period. And when any group gets power, watch for groups around them to be victimized in some way to serve someone's personal interests and agenda: slavery served the interests of the few at the expense of the person - or animal - forced into slavery; women were only grudgingly "given" rights in parity of men because it served men's interests NOT to have socially equal female peers; certain races/ethnicities bullied and victimized other races/ethnicities, and the list goes on and on.

So long as human society is based on the constant ab/use of power and force because too many will not self-regulate their own behaviour to a common degree of decency and integrity, there will be forcing and abuse. And, there will always be demagogues who benefit from screaming the loudest and nastiest rhetoric to ensure THEY will get into power so they can abuse it for the benefit of his or her pet groups.

I never would have thought that my life would end up with an income of less than $700 a month and a whoppin $42 in food stamps. I make now in a month what I used to make in a week when I was able to work. I had dreams, I had goals and I worked my ass off with overtime, taking other people's shifts so that I could achieve my goals early and perhaps retire early. Well I got to retire early (due to becoming sick with cancer) but lost sight of any of the dreams & goals for my life. Life shows up and sometimes it sucks. I HATE having to be on food stamps and I HATE having to live and survive solely on my little bitty disability check and you are NOT going to make me feel that you are doing a SERVICE to me by giving me the disability check that I paid into with my sweat, blood and tears.

Dandelion, I definately see your point as far as the drug testing goes but I have to agree with Veronica. I believe that they need to be drug tested in order to receive food stamps. Especially those that have a history of drug or alcohol abuse. I do not feel that it would cost any more money to test already known drug addicts than it does to supply them month after month with food stamps that they just go out and sell for drugs. Would you rather waste your money on paying for the drug testing of known drug offenders or pay for them month after month to get food stamps that they don't even need and use to buy drugs with and kill themselves or land up in a hospital due to drug complications that WE the people end up footing the Medical bills? There are many addicts out there and drug dealers out there that have more money (un-reported and illegal) than you or I combined will ever hope to have that are receiving food stamps.

Isn't it amazing how right-wingers are so afraid that a poor person might get something that they are not deserving of, and yet they have no problem with the corporate welfare that is doled out constantly from the taxpayers pocket. These are "Good Christians." If Jesus were to show up today, I'm sure the rightious, right wing crowd would crucify him again.

Again, I will state, those who receive Food Stamps should not be drugged tested. I do not see why the Elders and those who do not do drugs nor ever have must be subjected to that humiliation for others who do drugs or abuse the system in some way.

That is whole other issue and should be addressed in and of itself. The reason that Food Stamps were started was to keep people from starvation, and I know many Elders that would STARVE first before they submitted to that type of thing, being drug tested. I know of other non Elders, myself included that would starve before I had to be subjected to drug testing by simply having to obtain food to feed myself. In other Countries they do not even have Food Stamps, they pay the people enough wages and unemployment to eat so they don't need Food Stamps.

Bring forth Universal Health Care, so those who are ready to seek help for their drug or alcohol addications can obtain it and not be told there are no beds at this time or they can't get help as they have no medical insurance. Stop this Drug War that has created more drug addicts than before the Drug War began. Give people hope, opportunities with jobs, training and education and fewer will want to do drugs, they will feel better about themselves. I know that will not take all off of drugs but it's a good place to start, not to embarrass and humiliate those who are trying to keep from starving.

I worked for over 20 years as a Social Worker, in that 20 years at one point I interviewed people who were in need of Food Stamps. Sure some came in to apply that appeared very comfortable in doing so, but many both young and old felt horrible having to apply for the Food Stamps, they felt they had failed and it was hard for them to even ask. The Elders it was the hardest on them for they felt shame too, some breaking down in tears just having to ask for help to eat, for they were going hungry. And we should SHAME them further? Have them drug tested?

No absolutely not.....no way, no how, I've seen their faces, their tears......to drug test on top of it for some who abuse the system is not the way to go. How about the children, through no fault of their own will go hungry if a parent, some being raised by their Grandparents will not go through the process of Shame of drug testing in order to eat? It punishes the already suffering by forcing this upon them.

I've been waiting for someone to bring up the "Corporate Welfare"....maybe they should be drug tested before they get those subsidies, or the bail outs to Wall St and the Banksters. Again, it is the innocent, those who were not gambling with the economy that are asked to pay with the loss of equity in their homes, their jobs, cut backs within their schools because the rich go to private institutions, they want to lower or take away their Social Security and Medicare.

Go after the poor and struggling, as Lyn L so nicely stated above, "these types know how to pick the locks on americans livlihoods and pensions and pocket our monies with their gimmicks and scams and after they have picked their teeth, with their profits and gains, that have strapped the rest of us, they have the nerve......... to act superior over the rest of us. they talk about our laziness and that ...we.. should pull our ownselves up by our own boot straps."

I'm sure they would too, crucify him. They have lost their moral compass.

Notice that I said, "To Drug Test those that have a history of drug abuse";
As a 12yr. clean & recovering addict...before I could get food stamps I had to be drug tested and put thru a progam for six month. If I did not conply, then I did not get the foodstamps. Yes, to some degree it was humiliating but not as humiliating as some of the things that I had to do to get drugs. I needed food as was willing to go to any lengths to get it. It was either let go of my pride, or starve. I recovered from letting go of my pride....and now I have food to eat. Perhaps I didn't exactly appreciate having to be drug tested but I figured that this was the consequences of the choices that I had made in my life. While on the steets and using drugs I used to sell my foodstamps for dope. My first heart attack was because of getting bad dope that I had purchased thru selling my foodstamps. I had no medicaid/medicare so the taxpayers footed the bill of the hospital stay and treatment. After I was discharged from the hospital I went right back and got me some more dope.

Yes, it can be humilating to have to do a drug test but you get what you get when you do what you do.

Again, those who have never used drugs, those who are not using drugs, those who are Elders should not be subjected to drug testing and more humiliation simply because they need to eat. If drug testing for those who are addicted or broke laws, and that is their condition to continue to get help via food stamps or other types of programs, then that is one thing. But this man wants to have across the board drug testing for anyone just simply because they qualify for Food Stamps, that isn't right.

Most Elders worked many years and now in a time of life they can't work but some have low income via social security should be taken care of, be it food or medical care. As a society we should be able to provide to our Elders without humiliating them in the process.

It was once said: "That the moral test of government is how that government treats those who are in the dawn of life, the children; those who are in the twilight of life, the elderly; and those who are in the shadows of life, the sick, the needy and the handicapped." He didn't say after drug testing, humiliation, and making them feel shameful. Again, if there are conditions set forth upon those who do drugs, broke laws, is one thing, but all should not pay a penalty for others actions by simply being poor.

For 39 years, nine unelected men and women on the Supreme Court have played God with innocent human life.

They have invented laws that condemned to painful deaths without trial more than 56 million babies for the crime of being "inconvenient."

In 1973, the U.S. Supreme Court's Roe v. Wade ruling forced abortion-on-demand down our nation's throat.

In the past, many in the pro-life movement have felt limited to protecting a life here and there -- passing some limited law to slightly control abortion in the more outrageous cases.

But some pro-lifers always seem to tiptoe around the Supreme Court, hoping they won't be offended.

Now the time to grovel before the Supreme Court is over.

Working from what the Supreme Court ruled in Roe v. Wade, pro-life lawmakers can pass a Life at Conception Act and end abortion using the Constitution instead of amending it.

Then the High Court made a key admission:

"If this suggestion of personhood is established, the appellant's case [i.e., "Roe" who sought an abortion], of course, collapses, for the fetus' right to life is then guaranteed specifically by the [14th] Amendment."

The fact is, the 14th Amendment couldn't be clearer:

". . . nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty or property, without due process of law, nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the law."

Furthermore, the 14th Amendment says:

"Congress shall have power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article."

That's exactly what a Life at Conception Act would do.

But this simple, logical and obviously right legislation will not become law without a fight.

And that's where your help is critical.

You see, it will be a tough fight, but I believe with your signed petition it is one we can win.

I took it the other way around, thought you were pushing a Rand Paul agenda seeking funding. I think next time try to be a bit more clear....and I'd drop off the part where they are collecting funding.

What I find most disturbing and disheartening for this nation is the difference between the two sides of this. While the GOP propagandists make crap up and just expect everyone to take it at face value, which the gullible always do; But on the other hand, people like Keith Olberman and Rachel Maddow get out there and state facts AND back them up with references, people say that they are lying.

It's no wonder that this nation is going to hell in a handbasket. People need the truth, not the propaganda of the Christo-fascists and the GOP.

What?! While I can see a point in some drug testing (please don't hate me yet) there mus be a realization of the severity of addiction. Shaming people, for being unable to buy food for their families is incredibly arrogant. The poor and poverty stricken are not sub-human. It sounds as if these people are on the way to bringing back poor houses, sub-standard working conditions and probably child labor to help the rich get richer. The government aids other countries, why do they turn their back on ours? Self-centered and greedy, they should live in sub-standard housing, not be able to feed or clothe their children. These elitists know nothing of poverty with their "let them eat cake" attitudes. Hateful scum that call themselves human. Thank goodness for Karma.

hi everyone; this is a side issue under the catorgory of faith since we have the far right.

I was watching the praise a thon onTBN on 3/8/12. The owner Paul says that very soon this technology will be made available to the public which is a device inplanted individually in human beings. We have a choice to accept it or reject it,. Its our choice. His company has purposed to invest or look into it? It is usable for their purpose and it is company out very,very soon. It is suppose to be a communication system of some sort and is better than satelites. Don't shoot the messager. Just thought you should know, what whomever(s) are up to concerning us-ins. He/paul should not get mad that I am spreading his words, cause he was not trying to keep it a secret and I am just repeating what he said. I don't know what is the truth one way or the other.

I have been trying to just read happy stories cuz Im starting to SEETHE AT THE GREED..
Tomcat hit the nose on the head!
and Lois' information that the banks are making money does not surprise me, as I KNEW IT. They have their hands up everyones asses including congresses.
Democrats are not perfect but the repigs are making it SO MUCH EASIER to WANT to vote for dems JUST to make sure repigs dont get in.

I am a Christian and am tired of the repigs rhetoric on how THEY are Christians. They are in bed with the catholic church and there is a HUGE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO! TRUE Christians are supposed to give up their possessions, sell them and give the money to the poor. I read this last night and its the only hope I have for the future, besides the belief that Jesus will come soon:
Ephesians 5:5 No immoral, impure or greedy person- such a man is an idolater- has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

Enjoy your riches now, cuz there isnt any AC down where your going.

This is a thank you for a Mr. Patrick Donavan. He send me a star for the first posting to this article in March. It is august 27th and this is why I know to be here. I miss you all. Have been consumed by my own stuff. Watching politics. All the good stuff doesn't make the news cycles. I see and hear about the R party. It is convention time.
Well with all the fixing of elections by the r's and all the very rich buying the country and the world and their moral compass; we've all had a lesson in dishonesty.
Of course emotionally I am sad, that such things exists and babies are born into this malice and fore thought; as ususal, I wonder what's it all about "alfie" (remember that song?)
And of course when will it end/
Well it's 2012; the rumour was that by the end of 2012 ,our world would do one of 3 things: that is get better, be destroyed or stay the same.
As it gets closer to the end of this year I find myself wondering.
The lying evil face of mitt r and his party with their sidekicks with everything talked about here or??????

But for today; we'll try to enjoy it for whatever good there is and for whatever health we can enjoy and for whatever friends there are to share time spare, a good meal and a great conversation.
I miss you guys.. send a star and I'll join in your conversations and stay in touch.
Can't predict any winners.. too many variables. Use to be you could depend on news to have unsuspecting truth to it.
Now that they know; how it's done... where's truth? Truth have become traps...
If you get my drift.

Over time in closing societies, real news is supplanted by fake news and false documents. Pinochet showed Chilean citizens falsified documents to back up his claim that terrorists had been about to attack the nation. The yellowcake charge, too, was based on forged papers.

A stream of false information that is so relentless that it is increasingly hard to sort out truth from untruth. In a fascist system, it's not the lies that count but the muddying. When citizens can't tell real news from fake, they give up their demands for accountability bit by bit.

I never saw 2012 the end like the world blowing up or something like that, what I saw is the world ending as we knew it, that might mean a more extreme fascist takeover worldwide (after all we were the beacon to other people in the world that if we survived they had a chance to either change their world or come here as an immigrant) or it is coming to a peak with these extremist views coming from the Republican Party and that finally ends. Maybe the end of the world of Capitalistic run amuck with no regulations will end. A kinder and gentler world for us all. I guess I am still hopeful despite all.
