One could really do this without a stamp by just taking a few minutes to write with a pen or marker. We may not have as much $ as the 1% but we can use what we have to send a message.

Nothing new here Dandelion...It is, sickeningly, a worldwide phenomenon and 'democracy' in action...I guess 'democracy' just means we have the right to elect our own dictator?

I post many things on here and I realize for many of us this is old news, the trouble we are in. Some however are just joining the party and are trying to put it together, and a lot of people say, I'm not well enough to go to rallies, or the rallies are too far away.

I know from apathy a lot of the things we face is because not enough people stood up, took the time to learn, or fell asleep at their post. I am a firm believer that we can ALL do something, some more than others. So for those who state they are too ill, too old, live too far away, this is something they can do.

Barter when you can, buy local products.
Grow organic, sell local.
Buy used cars from independent dealers.
Buy work clothes from the local thrift store.
We must develop alternative, affordable products and sale venues.
Start a co-op business with other unemployed people who share your area of skills, stay with it - it takes some time to establish.
Move your money to a local bank BUT investigate who are the stockholders or owners of that bank. The 1% is creating new banks just to fool you.
Buy & sell using silver & gold.
Find your place in the revolution for a better world, do your work there and join us in growing NEW GRASS ROOTS.
Build your own NGR's, serve the 1% some of this NEW 'NGR' vegatable soup recipe.
Know it's hard to break habits, just some small effort each week (or day) will show amazing changes by the end of a year.
One thing more, one cannot 'buy' friends so 'weed and seed' friends; drop those who are on the corporate side and encourage others who understand 'we are the 99%'. New Grass Roots cannot grow when surrounded with poison fertilizers.

Oddly enough, when I have posted articles about this site, I always get at least one smart-a** who wants to inform me that "defacing money is illegal." Of course, these are usually the same kind of people who would really like to see free speech made illegal, especially if it isn't supporting their right-wing Republigoon agenda. Yes! We must OCCUPY The MONEY.

And, for anyone interested in tracking how far and fast their money travels in this economy, I would recommend registering their occupy currency at wheresgeorge.com . It's amazing watching one's dollar travel across the country.

For those who may inquire Brian, it is not illegal unless you're making them "unfit for recirculation" and, according to Title 18, Section 333 of the United States Code, this is defined as "mutilating, cutting, disfiguring, perforating, uniting or cementing together, or doing anything else to a bank bill with the intent to render such item(s) unfit to be reissued". So, if you're only writing the "www.WhereHaveIBeen.com" website address in neat lettering along one edge of the bill, wheresgeorge.com, Happy Birthday Sally, or as stated here, a factual statement in protest, you're certainly not making it "unfit for recirculation"!

Great idea, Dandelion! Let's face it, money gets passed around more than anything else --so what a great way to spread the word! The money actually WILL make its way to the 1% eventually, so why not include a message that lets them know how we feel? Too bad most of us don't have $100 bills to write our comments on. They're more likely to carry a bill of that denomination --or higher.

Indeed Susanne, they are more apt to carry larger bills. However they too get change. We also need to keep the message out there for the still sleeping within the 99%. Maybe after reading a few times

"400 Americans control as much wealth as the bottom half of the entire Country"

OR.......

"6 heirs to Walmart empire possess a combined wealth of some $90 Billion, which is equivalent to the wealth of the entire bottom of 30% of U.S. society."

They might want to start standing up to this uneven playing field as well. When they are asking children to do without food on their table to cut back food stamps, when they are asking for the Elders to take addtional hits in medical costs, when the VA budget is being cut while we have troops returning to no jobs and have a host of medical issues, why the very top are allowed to keep all their money while we continue to give is wrong, just plain wrong.

Since Scott Walkers re-election he is all over the airways talking about now that he won, again, they can do a better job at the austerity measures and that other States can learn from him to stick to their guns and follow suit. Also Romney applauded Walker on his win and he was speaking too about austerity measures. Not a mention of the rich paying an extra dollar of tax money, just take away from everyone else.
