Welcome to, a project dedicated to exposing the corporate fronts trying to make a quick buck by conning the people of Washington State into voting for ill-conceived initiatives that would weaken or privatize public services.

Washington is one of the most progressive states in the nation. It comes as no surprise that the sorry scabs of corporatism are targeting it.

"What matters is this: Democracy cannot be used to abolish democracy. A majority of people, voting in election, have no authority to take away majority rule and deprive future voters of their rights by enacting laws that contradict our Constitution."

It's up to the voters to stand for what they believe is right. If you do not want this happening then vote, and stand up for your vote. Democracy does not happen once every fours years, it is an on going process, pay attention or it may be too late.

Thanks for the link. Initiative 1100 & 1105 are from 2010, different versions of the same thing regarding allowing businesses to sell alcohol (instead of only the State Liquor sales). It passed and I believe some folks may be sorry because the taxes are all very confusing. But, they can all buy their liquor at the grocery stores, Costco, etc instead of going to a State run Liquor Store.

I will vote no on those mentioned that are up for a vote, however. Republicans know that all they have to say to many people is; "this is more taxes" and those who don't check the 'why' & 'where will it go' are going to vote NO.

It's important that we are all aware of this, as they are doing the same thing in Florida, but Washington State is doing a better job attacking back. We will have 11 questions on our ballot here in Florida that were NOT put on the ballot by the people, but were instead put on the ballot by the Republican held Legislature.

All 11 questions are designed to cut the average persons throat. Oh they are all worded nicely, and some go over the 150 word limit. Oh, how did the do that? Well they are the Legislature, so they just voted to allow it, for themselves!

I've been warned that with the voting ballot this year, it will take a long time to correctly vote for everything, and it is to cause long lines, again, in hopes of getting people discouraged, confused, and thereby not going to vote, or vote against their own self interests by default.

It is advised, early vote if you can, make sure you are not hungry before you go as you will be there for awhile, also study the questions before you go so you have your answers handy with you. Take your time to make sure you hit or color the correct circle. That was another issue the ballots were set up funny in the Gore/Bush election so many people by mistake colored in the wrong circle.

These corporations and their buddies are tireless and underhanded, using any method they can to ram their agenda through. I see some of the usual suspects are listed: BP, ConocoPhillips, Shell, Tesoro, Bank of America, USBank, and Wells Fargo. Trample the Consttution? No problem.

Who is Tim Eyman? (Click on his name on the home page.)

"Tim Eyman is Washington’s most prolific sponsor of right wing ballot measures. He uses the Evergreen State’s initiative and referendum process to undermine representative democracy by forcing public votes on schemes purposely intended to wreck government. Eyman is one of many Grover Norquist clones trying to dismantle America’s common wealth at the state level."

Thank you for this article, Dandelion.

Thank you Judy for your comment and for seeing the significance in my placing it on C2. Yes, there are many of these clones, operating in many ways and many States, we need to expose them for their tactics.
