These Memories

In the reality of many realities
how we see what we see
affects the quality
of our reality

We are
children of earth and sky
DNA descendant and ancestor
human being physical spirit
bone flesh blood as spirit

We are
in time and space
but we're from beyond time and space
the past is part of the present
the future is part of the present
life and being are interwoven

We are
DNA of Earth, Moon, planets, stars
we are related to the universal
Creator created creation
spirit and intelligence with clarity
being and human as power

We are
a part of the memories of evolution
these memories carry knowledge
these memories carry our identity
beneath race, gender, class, age
beneath citizen, business, state, religion

We are human being
and these memories are trying
to remind us
human beings human beings
it is time to rise up,
remember who we are
~ John Trudell

This video is wonderful, passing on also. Thank you, Sheryl for post. BTW, went to the Austin Powwow yesterday. I've gone the last 19 years. I am so glad to see Native American women (Veterans), represented in the Honor/Color guard during the Grand Entry! I had the opportunity a few years ago, to meet one of the original Navajo Code Talkers from WWII. It was an Honorable, wonderful, and memorable experience.

Beautiful and powerful! Thanks for sharing this, Dandelion! All petitions signed except for the one regarding Native American children. An error message (404 Not Found. The page that you have requested could not be found) kept appearing whenever I tried to submit my information.

Thank you Susanne. I'm not sure why that one petition keeps doing that as I access it every single time yet I've had a few others tell me that as well. Not sure if it's the browser that people use that will not allow it for some and yet others can open the petition. I thank those who have been able to access and had signed.

It appears to open under certain browsers, was just told they could open it under Firefox and I can access it by the Google Chrome.

Wonderful ... I have such admiration for John Trudell, his endless activism for Native peoples and his perseverance in the face of adversity and terrible personal loss (the murder of his family). He should be name a Poet Laureate of the United States. Thank you for posting, Dandelion!

Just came home and I'm pleased to share many are grateful and have signed Dandelion! TY Angelica, signed! Before I read the update about Firefox I tried once again to no avail. I'll try now. I thank all for your Beautiful posts. I am going to change my video to this one (on my profile page). It just blew me away and I agree it is by far one of the most Spiritual poems I have ever known. I haven't read John Trudell prior to today and guarantee to become familiar with him now. His name sounds very familiar so possibly you have sent his words to me in the past and I have forgotten. I won't forget again!!!

Vivian, this Nation owes a great deal of gratitude to the Code Talkers, unfortunately it wasn't given in the respect it should of been. In the past I've posted stories about the Code Talkers on here.

Yes, Susanne, I've posted other videos of John Trudell and have mentioned various things about him or posted quotes by him. His influence upon my life has been life long......
