This is a remarkable speech made in 1980 is from a man a visionary that could of wrote this speech today and still have it hit the nail of everything that is going on right now. The written transcript link is on the thread in my first comment if no video.

thanks so much Sheryl! Video wouldn't play so had to read it and I SECOND EVERY WORD in there!
Hope ALL will take them to heart and finally realize what he said-there IS NO HOPE FOR THE AMERICAN POLITICAL SYSTEM and it is time for another such gathering for survival I think and on a much larger scale.

It didn't start upon the North American soil, it was brought here from across the way, is why he said the people who came to the North American shores were oppressed too and the Predatory Energy has grown here and so has taken a firm root here. By doing so has now engulfed the world so that nothing is being done that is good for our Elders, our Children, our Earth, or any of us.

I think John Trudell ties it all together. We can not continue along this path and I'm glad I sent the transcript as I know some have video issues.

Thank you very much Dandelion for the video. We are indeed led by crazy politicians, paid by the big corporations. John Trudell is a very wise man.
Yes, we are allowing our politicians to undermine us.
The Earth is our mother, we have to take care of her. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OlEvF7SyEEg

The ruling class, the exploitative one percent who control world economics today, are not going to change under the existing political rules. They are going to lie to us and they are going to create the illusion of "changes," and they are going to push one face after another in front of us, making promises.

The above sentences were excerpted from the written transcript speech.........

Notice back in 1980........over 30 years ago........he was stating the 1%.

Yep, I DID notice that, it's obviously always been that way -and always will-unless people change that.

Click onto the Visit Site, it may allow you to view better. The longer version is an older wording, the video is a bit shorter and very powerful in how he has matured and placed it out there in words.

Thank you Dandelion, but that didn't work either. I just read this in it's entirety and several parts a couple of times. It IS very prolific and has me aware of a depth that has shaken me. I couldn't agree more with his words as they have touched me to my core.

Noted w/many thanks for posting, Dandelion. Well, that was beautifully put! So much truth.
Funny thing is, there have always been "overlords." In a way, it seems to me that it's getting harder to hide exactly who they are now because of social media. As the world's population increased, and the internet connected us to each other, we have more tools than ever at our disposal to speak truth to power. We connect in ways we never could before, and mass together and support each other. We can give each other hope to carry on, too.

My impression is that the writing of Richard Wolff, in "Capitalism Hits the Fan," in which he argues for a Post Capitalistic arrangement is relevant here.

Yes, always overlords, but when they get too greedy then there is too much of an imbalance. Is why the French rolled out the guillotine. We are there again.

Thank you Dandelion for consideration for us who don't have large downloads. I was able to download speech I really want to study it. The power of words is the greatest weapon of all. Once again thank you.

Without Balance we have nothing. I agree with Patricia E.G. and also want to especially take this moment Sheryl to say that I hope this November's National American Indian Heritage Month will awaken the government and people to the needs of the Native American People across the U.S.

"Upon suffering beyond suffering: the Red Nation shall rise again and it shall be a blessing for a sick world. A world filled with broken promises, selfishness and separations. A world longing for light again. I see a time of Seven Generations when all the colors of mankind will gather under the Sacred Tree of Life and the whole Earth will become one circle again." "We must consider the spiritual genocide that they commit against us: the spiritual genocide that white people have been victimized for thousands of years, the spiritual genocide that told them not to respect the earth—the spiritual genocide that told them not to respect the life that is the earth—but to pay all their tribute through the churches to god and heaven, that heaven would take care of them in the afterlife."

"We have to understand that they want us to be lazy in our minds and lazy in our spirits and lazy in our thinking."

We MUST always act out of love for the people and the earth. I have long believed that the original Americans had it right all along. We and the earth and everything on it, in it, and in the universe are One. I read a book by Isaac Asimov, part of his marvelous Foundation series, in it he had a planet called Gaea,a sentient planet, which knew what it was and so did all life on it. Nothing was ever lost, all were part of the same whole, a life lived by a humanoid was never lost when its time to rejoin the whole came, its memory was part of the planet's memory. When one part of the planet needed rain, rain fell. It was a completely spiritual experience. And yes, lazy thinking is part of our problem. It is much easier for us to allow others to do our thinking, politicians, preachers and teachers, because otherwise WE are responsible for making the choices we do. It is much easier to take the words of others, even others who lived more than 2000 years and accept them as gospel and allow some to tell us what they mean because otherwise we would have to come to those understandings and choices ourselves. It is fear that keeps us apart, love that brings us together. In the end, we must realize we are one world, one people and we are all part of the same whole. We aren't 200 plus separate countries and races and cultures and traditions, these are things used to keep us apart and afraid of each other. The day will come when we finally understand the truth, though it might not be the species that presently inhabit this planet. We can't kill it, but we can make in uninhabitable for our species and all other oxygen breathing species for a very long time. But the planet will continue breathing in and out and cleanse itself and perhaps then our spirit will have another chance to live together and love together in this wonderland of beauty and understand fully our connection to it and to each other. That's my dream. I don't see it happening under the present circumstances, but perhaps, one day we will be wiser and on that day we will be whole.

Bravo Gene and glad you were able to watch Angelika. The written speech was in 1980 and he has matured and tweaked the speech. All is good, but I love to listen to him speak. Indeed Gene, our Mother is a living Being, we all come from out of her. Everything that exists today started out of the Earth. When we disrespect the Earth we are disrespecting ourselves. Whatever we do to the Earth we are doing to ourselves.

Thank You once again Dandelion for this powerful video of John Trudell speaking. It is so true that this political system cannot go on. The people are going to have to rally by the hundreds of thousands before it will change though. Enough damage has been done to Mother Earth with no regard, no respect. We are dealing with Evil now - power - greed - liars - who have no compassion for the people they were voted in to help, for the terrible gluttons scraping this Earth as far as they can. We can't let this continue!!!!!

WOW!! Spot on!!
At about 12 minutes when he used 'their' excuses, it gave me a chill..seems he was bleating the right wing rhetoric of today..

I was only 9 when he wrote this, so of course I wasnt aware of what was going on, and I find it sad, and disgusting, that things have only gotten worse. People are apathetic, unless it affects them personally. The only hope is people like us.

I went to the transcript to look for the part above I mentioned and saw that its something I need to come back to when Im not so tired.Scanning it, it made me depressed actually and feel small and hopeless because people HAVE created movements in the past and yet we are still owned and controlled (from the moment we born until we die)..however, that there are MORE of us gives me hope.

Thanks for another great one Dandelion!

I discovered John Trudell after watching the documentary "Real Injun", then I watched "A Good Day to Die" and "Trudell". I have been listening to his poetry and speeches on youtube ever since. I would love to actually see him speak somewhere but either he doesn't do it allot anymore or it is just not advertised when he does.

You can contact John Trudell at:
Contacting John Trudell and Speaking Engagements

It is to be remembered that John is now 67 years of age so perhaps isn't traveling around as much as he once was. His voice has been heard by many people both off and on the internet. Now it is more than time for each person to bring those words into our hearts and then our actions will follow accordingly.
