Noted and signed, although there was a weird glitch during the send. What's sad is that all of us who love Mother Earth can sign away, but the greedy yutzes who control the money don't give a hoot or a holler. Wish we could get them all to have to live in the middle of their fracking juices for a month or two, and on what the rest of us have to live on financially.

Done, and thanks Dandelion.

The computer isn't letting me copy 'n paste now but in the Earth Charter it points out that we have the technology to provide for our needs without destroying the environment, which is very true. More people need to realize this fact, but i notice a big challenge, especially in the US, seems to be getting people to realize that the only way to do things (regardless of the technology used) is NOT for a private industry to make profit such that those profits can be taxed for other needs, or that the people hired by that industry translates to social benefit.

I don't care how many times someone wants to repeat the mantra "this country's broke" so we just have to accept this or that from the fossil fuel or other industry to generate money. For one, this belief leads to total destruction eventually, two, there is already massive lopsided profits that can be taxed, and most importantly, we CAN provide for our at least basic needs without the profit motive. But don't ask me how to get more people to accept this.

I'm on board with you Bryan, but you are correct about changing the mindset of many people. It took the great propaganda machine for the people to buy into this bill of goods and those who have control of the great media sources are not going to push out another message.

It will have to come from the CORE or Heart of The People themselves on a one on one bases. As more people grasp and understand the concept you speak; at some point there becomes a tipping point, but that takes time, and honestly, I'm not sure what will come first, because our environment is at a tipping point.

The principles of the Bahá'í Faith were established by Bahá'u'lláh, the Founder of the Faith, in the latter half of the nineteenth century and promulgated by His Son and appointed successor, 'Abdu'l-Bahá during a tireless twenty -nine year ministry. While on an historic teaching trip in 1912 throughout the United States and Canada, 'Abdu'l-Bahá explained Bahá'u'lláh's Teachings to audiences of infinitely varied backgrounds. Many of His talks included discussions of such Bahá'í principles as:

• The oneness of mankind.

• Universal peace upheld by a world government.

• Independent investigation of truth.

• The common foundation of all religions.

• The essential harmony of science and religion.

• Equality of men and women.

• Elimination of prejudice of all kinds.

• Universal compulsory education.

• A spiritual solution to the economic problem.

• A universal auxiliary language.

Unitarian Universalist is also a group that encompasses the whole. When they speak of justice they also mean to the earth and all beings upon it as well.
1st Principle: The inherent worth and dignity of every person;
2nd Principle: Justice, equity and compassion in human relations;
3rd Principle: Acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth in our congregations;
4th Principle: A free and responsible search for truth and meaning;
5th Principle: The right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and in society at large;
6th Principle: The goal of world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all;
7th Principle: Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part.

An important step forward if one could only get politicians to favour it and corporations to work for the good of the planet instead of their CEO's.

Lets not forget population control ie. birth control of some kind.

The reason the forests are getting cut down and waters are increasingly poisoned, is simply the greater demand for products due to increased population.

Ironically - if initially there were serious investment in alternative energy, many costs would come down & that could lead to better pricing, & hence reduction in the struggle of the poorest.
But of course, that would assume that reduced costs are passed on to the consumer ...

Human Rights, Democracy and Freedom

By Tenzin Gyatso, H.H. the XIVth Dalai Lama

Whether we are concerned with suffering born of poverty, with denial of freedom, with armed conflict, or with a reckless attitude to the natural environment everywhere, we should not view these events in isolation. Eventually their repercussions are felt by all of us. We, therefore, need effective international action to address these global issues from the perspective of the oneness of humanity, and from a profound understanding of the deeply interconnected nature of today's world.

At birth, all human beings are naturally endowed with the qualities we need for our survival, such as caring, nurturing and loving kindness. However, despite already possessing such positive qualities, we tend to neglect them. As a result, humanity faces unnecessary problems. What we need to do is to make more effort to sustain and develop these qualities. Therefore, the promotion of human values is of primary importance. We also need to focus on cultivating good human relations, for, regardless of differences in nationality, religious faith, race, or whether people are rich or poor, educated or not, we are all human beings. When we are facing difficulties, we invariably meet someone, who may be a stranger, who immediately offers us help. We all depend on each other in difficult circumstances, and we do so unconditionally. We do not ask who people are before we offer them help. We help because they are human beings like us.

16. Promote a culture of tolerance, nonviolence, and peace.
a. Encourage and support mutual understanding, solidarity, and cooperation among all peoples and within and among nations.
b. Implement comprehensive strategies to prevent violent conflict and use collaborative problem solving to manage and resolve environmental conflicts and other disputes.
c. Demilitarize national security systems to the level of a non-provocative defense posture, and convert military resources to peaceful purposes, including ecological restoration.
d. Eliminate nuclear, biological, and toxic weapons and other weapons of mass destruction.

I'm glad so many USAmericans endorse this!

Not to disqualify anyone's religion, but as human beings we are given the responsibility to bring back the planet to a state it was given to us before we chose to pollute it. If we wait for any potential "saving" from a deity we may be waiting too long. We must all hold ourselves accountable today.

I had to play with the link and didn't add anything after meanders. She added stuff right afterwards that wasn't part of the link. People don't realize I guess if it isn't exactly correct how it will not work.
Try this Laurence.
