Government has failed us. More than 90% of Americans link that failure to the influence of money in politics. Yet the politicians ignore this influence. Politicians spend endless time with their funders. These funders hold our democracy hostage.

18 Days to Reach this Goal. Every dollar counts. At least watch the short video and pass this information around. It is dependent upon us all to pass this along as is explained in the video.

For a complete informational talk and to further learn who Lawrence Lessig is this is a great video at this link but it is longer at 40 minutes. But I always feel we learn a lot when we take the time to learn more.
Lawrence Lessigs Newest Presentation is Fantastic Watch it Here

Oh, and who is paying he matching funds? And who will be the candidates...those who get the money to vote for real campaign finance reform ? They're lucky if they can find a handful..

98% FUNDED $989,040 RAISED. I would say enough of Americans are contributing to this as it's nearly all raised for the first part of it.

Lawrence Lessig, professor and director of the Edmond J. Safra Center for Ethics at Harvard University. Founder of the Center for Internet and Society. He seems very above board, he was good friend with Aaron Swartz of which his death made a major impact upon him. I'd say he runs in with those who can come up with the matching funds, who knows, it might even be himself.

Lawrence Lessig is 100% above board and can totally be trusted with this. If anyone can do this, it is Lawrence Lessig!! Even $5.00 can help. Even $1.00. Just think if every American who is not represented in this country put just $1.00 into this PAC, it would have the 2nd tier funded. We don't have to pledge a lot, and surely everyone can afford to pledge just $5.00. Thanks for sharing, Sheryl!!

I agree Deb. This is for our future and our children and grandchildren's future. Think of it as spending it on them as a gift. If we don't get some Representatives that clearly understand that the way the economics are set up these children will never have a leg to stand on, each year more and more wealth is funneled to the top and less for all.

If we don't get Representatives that understand the grave injustice being played out upon our environments then the lands will be destroyed, the waters contaminated, the air thick with toxins, and the beauty that we all knew growing up will continue to erode. We must get people elected that begin policies for the survival of the people and animals not just for Corporate interests alone.

To me this is an investment in whether or not there will be a future in which we are either living as destitute or beginning to thrive and regain our balance within the natural order along with all our Relations. I don't have a lot to donate and can't donate often, but this is one place that I feel is so important that I did so. Please look under those sofa cushions and in the bottom of your purse or junk draw, look down while you walk I find pennies or dimes all the time, gather up those coins and send them in.

Yup, and now for their 2nd goal of reaching $5 million. I think if they get Pay Pal they'll pick up extra people like you who use that method.

It most probably would Deb, and they should have it ready working pretty soon. Noticed how they already RAISED their original goal of $5 mio to now 6 mio for the second target,- that's a good sign.

I dug into that site and studied the entire procedere so for those interested in details, be sure to check this out:   >> (that's the "specific legislation" to effect fundamental reform and which must be supported by Congressional members or candidates)

Sheryl G (363)
Wednesday May 14, 2014, 12:51 pm
This is only one of the possible solutions but it makes sense on how to compete against the Koch Brothers. Do get this information around, each of us has the potential to reach others. Forward on your private emails and all other social networks you are on. We have to do something, otherwise we roll over and it isn't going to be pretty, it isn't great now.

Thanks for the additional information Angelika. I know you would help, you do more for Americans than many do for themselves, which is wonderful on your part but sad on our part.

Thank you for sharing even if you can't donate. Allow others to have the opportunity that can donate. This is a chance for all of us......we need to try to give this chance a shot at success. Otherwise I fear for all of us.

noted, thanks Dandelion.

This is something, at least an attempt and deserves to be supported. In Canada and really everywhere, even in the most liberal democracies including Canada from where I come (like Ted Cruz, lol) , the level of democracy is abysmal. Entrenched interests protect the status quo and once reformers take power they BECOME the new entrenched interest and the status quo now serves them ,where before it was the enemy.

The reforms we need are so radical that I worry whether they are possible, but one breakthrough that I firmly believe has to happen to achieve any lasting success is that we are going to have to find a unifying movement out of which arises a unifying movement, one which unites all the people who know the system is corrupted and requires change that can only be described as sweeping.
